Last night's game showed that Mariota is far from NFL ready. Ohio's defense the closest thing to a NFL defense exposed that he is far from a sure thing in the NFL. If he falls even then you have to really think about it.When I read tripe like the link below it scares me that Woody might be dumb enough to force MM to do it to sell PSL. nypost.com/2015/01/12/next-jets-gm-must-prove-hes-not-idzik-by-getting-mariota/

I hope we stay put and draft either a great WR or LT.

There is no "sure thing" at QB this year or most years. I am not one to say that we should take Mariota, but we do need to find a reliable starting QB somewhere.

We haven't had a real qb here since Namath - if we have a chance to grab a top prospect at that position you take the chance - particularly with the Rookie salary cap in place

I watched the game hoping to see something in this kid that would make me excited about drafting him. if he crushed it last night, do we mortgage the future and take a run at him, or...if he played well, but not out of his mind, do we take a chance if he's there at 6.
Fortunately for us, that was answered last night with his performance. It might not be fair to judge his body of work by one game, but...man, that one game counted a lot for him! No green Broadway Marcus t-shirts, buttons and bumper stickers will be printed this spring.

Kid's stock is taking an awful beating since last week and last night was terrible for him (which is crazy because you look at his stat line and its mvp-esque, but the throws just weren't there...)

I agree the jets have to find a viable QB. watching this guy last night is a red flag Ohio has the closest thing to a NFL defense and he looked confused. I like the chance with grabbing Bryce Petty in the mid rounds and bringing in a veteran.

It sucks watching these kids' futures unfold for the worse right before your very eyes. Whether its Leaf, Leinart, Young, Johnny Football, etc., and now a Mariota...these are just kids who were (or they or others believed they were) Prime 1A their whole lives, and it comes crashing down at 21, 22, 23 years old. My daughter is getting ready to go to college, and it would be awful see to her dreams smashed to smithereens in just a few more years.
