Well, the Jets aren’t winning more than 1 more game the rest of the way, tops.
We’ll ultimately end up picking in the #5-7 range and guys like Chase Young and Andrew Thomas will most likely be gone.
Enter CeeDee Lamb, the DeAndre Hopkins clone that would give the Jets the most talented WR they’ve had since at least the days of Al Toon.
A guy who can be a go-to target for Darnold for the next 10+ years and can create separation on his own, has some of the surest hands in recent memory, and makes those tough contested catches seem routine.
Robby Anderson can eat a bag of dicks and dupe some other team into giving him $10-12 million a year. I’d much rather put that money towards bringing in a quality OL in FA, and it looks like there will be a few (Scherff, Thuney, Conklin, etc).
This team hasn’t drafted a WR in the 1st round since Santana Moss nearly 20 years ago. I’d say it’s about time for that to change.
Invest heavily in the OL in FA, draft Lamb in the 1st round, and then grab another OL or two between rounds 2-4.

The trouble is that the Jets are not the only team with OL needs, there's a league wide shortage of decent OL talent. For god sakes, did you see what the Eagles paid Lane Johnson.....good god.

Sorry, give me the best LT available. Then give me the best RT. Then give me the best G. Then give me the next best G. Then you can draft whatever you want.

Macc signed Beachum 3 years ago and then traded for a broken down Osemele 8 months ago. That was it, throughout his entire 5 offseasons as GM. The last time we really spent on OL in FA we wound up with Faneca and Woody. Not too shabby to say the least. I’d gladly give Scherff $16 million a year and Thuney $13 million.

I’m not taking OL just for the sake of taking OL. For some reason a lot of fans have this mindset that OL are safer picks than other positions, despite OT’s having one of the highest bust rates of any position over the last 10-12 years. There’s a drop off going from Andew Thomas to the rest of the OT’s in this class. There are a lot of people who believe that Tristan Wirfs, pretty much universally regarded as the 2nd best OT in this draft, is a RT or guard at the next level. Spend heavy on the OL, give Darnold a legit #1 receiver for the next decade then continue to invest in the OL afterwards. Otherwise, who the hell is Darnold throwing to next year? The only WR’s under contract besides Crowder next season are guys like Braxton Berrios, Vyncint Smith and a broken down Enunwa.

The last time we really spent on OL in FA we wound up with Faneca and Woody. It was almost unreal how good that line was - 2009 - I feel like we never had a negative run play, even all those times I thought the run was dead in the hole.

Scherff and Thuney are going to be very, very costly to whomever they sign with. I just don't see the Jets being able to sign them.

Beachum, Harrison, Edoga as a RT or backup swing tackle. Draft 2 Guards and a Tackle. Its a start.

I just don't see the Jets being able to sign them. Like I said, Macc traded for a broken down Osemele 8 months ago and that's the only even slightly significant OL addition he made since signing Beachum 3 years ago. Paradis going to Carolina was a blessing in disguise. He’s the 32nd ranked center in the league this year. Worse than Kalil when he was healthy. Denver clearly knew something was up with him and let him walk right out the door. Yes, guys like Scherff and Thuney are going to be very costly, but that’s where I would make my splash if I’m Douglas. I don’t give two shits about paying a one dimensional receiver like Robby Anderson $12 million a year. I’m not going to drop $14-16 million a year on a zone corner like Byron Jones or a one year wonder edgerusher like Shaq Barrett either. Guys like Scherff and Thuney are pro-bowl caliber OG’s just entering their primes at major positions of need for the Jets. That’s where I would be willing to throw major cash around.

Draft a beast WR with the first pick, sign the best OL in FA and draft OL with the 2nd and 3rd rd picks. As for Robbie, I never want to see that puck ass skinny bitch in a jets uniform after this year. Let that fuck walk.

Problem is, where we draft most likely, we're missing out on the best LT, and the next couple guys play RT, although they say they can move to LT.
