I am curious if the mets will fire Beltran. He was one of the architects of the cheating. I will give them credit if they do because they should. Unfortunately, much like the Jets, they don’t normally do the right thing. It's funny, the Mets fans, many of whom never really loved him, dont want him fired. I dont know how you begin a tenure as a manager with this hanging over your head? The Subway series games will be brutal for him. The Yanks got fucked over so bad by these two cheating teams...its gonna be hilarious. If you buy me tix, food and beers and drive me, I might to with you. DOnt hold your breath.

I know a lot of Mets fans who feel Beltran should be fired. And Boomer and Gio are harping about it on the radio. Im leaning towards firing him, but at the same time, he was a player and not a coach/manager/GM - granted a ringleader apparently, but should every player who was on the roster at the time get disciplined? Maybe so? Interesting debate for sure.

and somewhere in a mall in Vegas, Peter Rose will sign you a baseball for $100.00 When I was a kid, I got Rose's autograph for free, pre-banning, at Shea Stadium. Boy, back then, I thought that baseball would be worth a billion dollars someday. Then I grew up and realized that post-banning, Pete will sign anything you put in front of him for a buck. Market is flooded with Pete Rose autographs.

Beltran was clearly a major player in this scheme, let him go as the sole fall guy for the players, move on and get this stink away from the team. This will follow him. Mets dont need this. (I'm a Yankee fan)

Axe a few higher ups as if it was all their fault. (Jeff Luhnow actually tried twice to put it to an end.) It's a farce. You can't suspend 100+ players who participated...what a mess that would be. So the axe a few and tie it up in a nice little bow. In time for spring training of course. America's pastime!!

I think teams will have to rethink the whole way pitchers and catchers communicate. Technology has far surpassed the arcane lumbering game of baseball. You could have a camera on a pole a block from the stadium or on a roof top and players with wired helmets or belts or shoes. Or all the stuff the Patriots do but without Patriot Jackets on. I remember when this first broke, Mike Francesa absent-mindedly suggested catchers could wear a headset to speak to the pitchers...very next caller goes.."hey, uh Mike...isnt the batter standing next to the catcher? Wouldnt he hear this?" Gold.

(I'm a Yankee fan) Agreed. Cant suspend the whole team of players. The timing is tough. Its mid January. Players report to Spring Training in a month. If you fire Beltran now, who do you hire on short notice that is anything but an interim coach for the season?

Maybe they have a coach calling signs from the dugout with a headset to the pitchers with an earpiece... but both pitchers and catchers would probably hate that. And then the minute the connection failed, accusations of jamming the signal.

Fwiw, just saw a re-tweet from ex MLB pitcher Dallas Braden of a chick who is supposedly Beltrans niece saying he was going to step down.

Great. A new managerial search a month before spring training. That bodes well for the season.

That same chick is now saying Altuve and Bregman had buzzers inside their jerseys to let them know what pitch was coming... this whole thing is bizarre.
