Two SB wins over a cheating machinating coach/team,including the "undefeated"* season puts him in.
Otherwise, no.

You take away 2 plays (one which was dumb luck) and his career looks mighty average. I'm trying to think of a HoFer who you could do that with. Namath might be close...take away one game and his career is just OK but there is historical significance that stats don't measure. And Namath was a huge personality who transcended the game. Eli seems like a good guy but boring as hell. But as you say he did win 2 SBs against the evil empire.

I'll take dumb luck over a well documented culture of cheating spanning Beli's entire tenure as HC....a tenure that also included Tom personally penalized (pun intended) for cheating. When the time comes I will have a real problem seeing Brades go in. Its tainted, all of it. This guy gets it. Digits pronto. Who's bringing the lube? We're a 69 type joint.

Eli was .500 overall - but two SB and playoff runs largely driven by his clutch play - 4 postseason 4th-quarter comebacks and 5 game-winning postseason drives. That's double Drew Brees all around. Eli is the floor for me - but he squeaks in.

Can anyone post his career stats? I’d do it but I’m on my mobile. Yeah, that’s the ticket.

G Att Comp Pct Att/G Yds Avg Yds/G TD TD% Int Int% Lng 20+ 40+ Sck SckY Rate 236 8,119 4,895 60.3 34.4 57,023 7.0 241.6 366 4.5 244 3.0 99 701 140 411 2,870 84.1 Cut and Pasted ugly, but basically a .500 record, 60% completions, 366/244 TD to INT, 57,000 yards passing. To me, statistically, like was said above, he's the floor of the HOF. Two big points for me, his 2 Super Bowl wins, and the fact he was an iron man pretty much, playing 236 games over 16 seasons.
