I can't argue that the Jets would get a #1 stud receiver at pick #11. However, I still want a LT. Also, I've said it before if I hear the phrase: "He has lots of upside but is still learning the game," I'm going to lose it.

If they take a DL and say he was the best player on the board I will murder JD. I’ll follow him to Nome and bury him in a frozen grave. We need offense mother fucker! Anyway, I hope the draft works out well. 😂

I'm not a fan of best player available, but I can see the reasoning and don't say I'm 100% right in not liking it. I remember they said Leo was the best player available and fell into the Jets lap, and everyone raved. Well, how did that turn out? I want a left tackle and I mean this draft. If they keep putting off the inevitable the longer this retooling is going to take. It's so deep at WR someone will be there if that they way they want to go later. If not the Jets will have to roll with the current roster or make a move prior to or during the season, although football trades are rare during the season. hell, the way things are going they're may not even be a season.

The only way I would be ok with drafting defense in the first round is if Chase Young or Jeff Okaduh are available @ 11, otherwise offense, offense and offense all the live long day.

From the Athletic.
It’s a successful free agency if the Jets fixed their offensive line, which multiple execs thought they did not despite signing former Seattle tackle George Fant and former Denver center Connor McGovern, each for about $9 million per year.
“What is worse, tying yourself to Le’Veon Bell for $27 million guaranteed, or tying yourself to Fant and McGovern for $31 million guaranteed?” an exec asked.
That depends upon one’s opinion of Fant and McGovern. The Jets apparently thought better of those two than others did, particularly concerning Fant.
“I like Fant as a third tackle,” another exec said, “and McGovern is OK.”
Fant was once considered the Seahawks’ left tackle of the future, but a serious knee injury prevented him from playing in 2017, resetting his trajectory. Seattle used him extensively as an additional lineman in a power scheme, but the Seahawks let both Fant and their starting right tackle, Germain Ifedi, depart.
“Fant is really like a developmental tackle,” another exec said. “I don’t think their line is fixed at all.”

I miss Thunder and Lightning so much. Seeing Jones run like a downhill freight...A visit from Mount Olympus, before the Rex-clouds gathered. sniff

So - back to topic - 9 one year contracts means Douglas
- has an alibi building for future
- thinks he can divine who will stick t their rehab
- can create unity with plucky role players
I like the"quality over quantity" ~ depth; but J E T S chances seem skinnier than yesterday.

Rob Gronkowski has told the Patriots he is interested in coming out of retirement, but wants to reunite with Tom Brady on the Bucs, per @rapsheet
