I don't use a mac, just and ipod...what do you recommend in it's place? Ah, well... It depends on your music library. The thing I can't stand about ipod (along with most tech ppl) is the itunes etc. Anything with drag/drop capabilities with .flac support will be a better product. And will 9/10 give you better audio quality. I've had a couple Cowon devices... One had a 48 hour battery life. I lost it. I loved that thing. Drag/Drop any files, no ridiculous updating of libraries and HDCP garbage. And the sound quality was superb. this thing I like about the ipod is it works in the truck, I can read everything on the nav screen. Anything like that in the devices you are talking about?

USB control? Well probably not. The truck head unit is probably made to work with apple and apple only. If it was just a headphone jack, that's a different story.
