first of all...how the fvck does a team go 2-11 and still be staring at ONLY the No 5 pick....only the fricken Jets
Richardson...was all set to rage at Rex on the stupidity of dropping a 300 pounder into coverage because of course he's going to get outrun by a wideout.....then I watchedthe replay and couldn't believe that Sheldon was rushing as an interior lineman and not dropping and then hustled all the way across the field and actually put up a better pursuit than Eric Smith did against Cruz....
take a bow Sheldon...take a fvcking bow

Sheldon is incredible. This team doesn't deserve him. I feel so bad for him. That was painful to watch, and right after he got hurt what seemed pretty badly on the immediate preceeding play

We drop Richardson into coverage a lot. No idea why. It's the kind of "innovative" goofy shit that Rex loves so much Take one of the most talented DL in the league and drop him back in coverage to cover TE's and wideouts instead of getting after the QB.

I remember when Rex first came here we had the DL standing up and moving all over the place. It was effective if I recall correctly. I can't remember the last time we did that.

We drop Richardson into coverage a lot. No idea why. And in fairness he's exceptional in coverage considering he's a DL....think he made a couple of plays today from that position, probably doesn't get the sack numbers because of it...still I've tired of it as a strategy, just draft coverage guys and put them in coverage and draft pass rushers and get them rushing the passer rather than this too clever by half smoke and mirrors crap

I remember Kris Jenkins blitzing from the middle linebacker position, I have no idea what happened over the years.

I've come to change my mind on the Jets D formation. Coples needs to be a lineman. The closer he lines up to the ball the better. He needs an OL hitting him in the face on every play to keep him focused. Convert to to a 4-3 with Mo, Shel, Snacks, and Coples. However, they will have to re-tool the LB ccrps.

His best year in college was when he was lined up as a DT. Honestly, I haven't been paying attention to where he's rushing from but we should try to do some more stunts.

Good point. The problem as I see it is the 3-4 can be run without having blue-chip 1st rounders on the DL.We ran it successfully under Parcells with guys like Rick Lyle and Shane Burton....even now Harrison and before him the previously unspectacular Pouha and DeVito were more than capable. It's at LB where you need the big time playmakers and under Rex we've failed year after year to get the kind of pressure that rattles even the best QB's...RR. seems too enamoured with his ability to scheme guys into success rather than just put the right players out there and let them go after it. So we get Pace and Colles lumbering about at a position that needs a Justin Houston or DeMarcus Ware. can't help but think Mo,Q and Sheldon would all be even more effective in a 4-3...Snacks likely pretty useful too and then we can finally focus on getting some proper talent at OLB rather than making do with guys like Pace and Coples
