Took the state licensure boards the other day and just found out I passed. I'm officially a licensed RN in the state of NY. After 3 years of prerequisites, nursing lectures and clinical rotations, I am finally done. Now, onto obtaining a job and the bachelor's. Also, I am now more qualified than ever to provide perineal care. Congrats, Hotlips.

Nope, just the associates. What is it you find confusing? Beyond the obvious, naturally. Well for starters I thought you had to have a bachelor's to be RN, the associates were the ones "below" that level, and I don't get all the letters LPN etc etc etc Many hospitals are requiring RNs hold a BSN as opposed to an ASN (which I have), but it doesn't make a difference with regards to scope of practice. Even the RNs who earned diplomas as opposed to degrees are the same. The BSN is really a big money grab for "magnet hospital" status. The amount of money you earn for holding it is negligible. That said, I will likely pursue it if for any other reason than to open job opportunities. TLDR; it doesn't make you a better nurse. You know what? fuck you for giveing me the cold sholder. We could have been good friends Fine, I'll make up for it at Hampurcon 2.0; you get the first bath. Well done, good luck with the job search. Thanks, hoping some of these interviews pan out. I'm eager to get started. Would you prefer Gaylord? Deek.
