Maybe the resident murse Jetworks could give you a firm internet diagnosis on your foot. Sounds to me like your Achilles is about to give out, hanging on by a thread. Alas, I'm no murse.

Just strained I think. This is an account from a week ago now. I´ve actually been in Barcelona for the last week recovering. It feels much better now. Rested and with a much lighter rucksack I´m hoping to get back on the trail in a couple of days but I will be very wary of over working myself and trying for two days in one in the future. I dont want to push myself too hard, if there are anymore problems I will retire the walk and see a specialist.

Sounds like a soft-tissue injury, possibly to the proximal symphytum, but without an MRI it would be tough to say. RICE is really the best course of treatment at this point, something he's already doing whilst in Barcelona, I assume.

Damn. Bummer man. Well at least you can get back to it at some point. Maybe there are excercises or something to build up the tendons to prepare for that kind of endurance test.

Sorry man. Really sounds like a disappointing situation. I wouldn't say it was all for nothing though. You'll be back there soon.

Dang - was enjoying your travel blog - had achilles tendonitis in both legs - went through PT rehab process where they scrape the tendon with a piece of plastic to open up the blood flow (all external) and with an exercise routine, it healed rather quickly. good luck and hope you get the chance again.

And you got stinky fingers! already better than SS OMG that made me laugh! Look! Thanks fellas I feel like I'm in mourning at the moment. As strange as it seems I was so motivated for this its like a player being ruled out week two of the season.

that sucks man, sorry to hear it. But you had to stones to get out there and give it a shot. Safe to say a lot of us old bastards were living vicariously through you as were doing this, would have loved to have to tried something like then when I was a younger man. Closest thing I ever did was set out on a camping trip on my own in upstate NY for a week, alone...well, sorta. Got there on a Sunday and my friends joined me at the campsite later in the week on Friday Great weather the first 2 days, torrential rains for the next 3 days...and I almost cut my leg off with a chainsaw when my foot slipped off a wet rock. Fun times though.
