So tired of talking about Mariota and Winston. Unless someone knows how to take Mariota's brain, and put in Winston's body, then no thanks to both...
What I would like to talk about, is the other options (the more realistic ones IMO). Who would you like to see come on board? I firmly believe Cutler is on his way out, as is Foles... reading the tea leaves in STL, sounds like they're going to push to keep Bradford. Plus your Matt Moores and Ryan Mallets of the league.
I'm going to go with the following; Sign Hoyer, keep Geno, and draft Bridge.. (who you list as a distant 3rd in year one).
The goal in year 1 of the new regime is to establish a culture and consistency. Hoyer is limited as a talent, but played well when the situation was stable. No one's going to be calling for Geno's name, and under the right OC, think Hoyer can be a good stopgap for whomever they eventually take one. This team's got a LOT of holes and questio marks, think we start using the cap and draft to build around the QB position to facilitate success later.

Who says Foles is on his way out?
Anyway...there's really no "vet" qb that is going to prosper here next year....it's G-nope and the rookie...who ever that is...

If Idzik stays and we draft Mariotta or Winston, our "veteran" QB will be Geno Smith.

If you just look at this from a timeline point of view, then a vet stop gap QB will need to be signed well before the draft since free agency starts two months prior to the draft. So I agree a Hoyer, McCoy, etc, etc will be here. I've pretty much talked myself out of trading away valuable picks to move up for Mariota, just don't think he is worth giving up a second in 2015 and a one in 2016. I would much rather draft Winston and keep my second and future first round picks. If Winston is gone, then I'm all about taking a shot Bridge later in the draft and re-evaluate the QB position in 2016.

No to Mariota or Winston but yes to Cutler. Interesting.

Call me crazy, but I think Matt Schaub still has some football left in him

I've only seen one page but it's enough to reinforce what I already knew: the Jets are screwed if they don't land Winston.

I really like this kid Paradis but he def will need to sit for a year or two to refine his mechanics. But he has a cannon which you can't teach. That being said Hoyer is terrible, he has a decent receiving corps, a very good set of running backs and a top notch offensive line and he still sucks. That being said I totally agree with your overall plan.

Intrigued by this Bridge kid, wouldn't mind take him in the later rounds.

As I prepare to be flamed, if we do manage to land Harbaugh, I might be willing to take a flyer on RGIII (depending on what the Redskins would want from a trade).

I with you I'm sick of this Mariotag or Winston garbage. The last thing the Jets need is another pistol option gimmick QB. We are already seeing these QBS don't work in the NFL Newton,RG3, Kaprinick look at them not even 5 years in the league and they are in decline. ONLY reason Wilson is still good because Marshawn Lynch is a workhorse and takes the workload off of Wilson let's see what happens after Lynch leaves. If connor Cook does come out that's the QB to target a classic drop back QB with a big arm that's what the jets need. Anot her thing the new coach needs Geno to go back to being a drop back passer like Geno was in college Geno was forced into this run around garbage from Rex and Marty wanting a wildcat QB that is half the reason Geno is struggling. Can't wait until this clown of a coach is gone.
