Whatever happened to kicking field goals and taking points on 4th down?

the first one was the right call bc it would have still been a two possession game. the second one was the right call bc you have no idea what is going to happen after that. we had momentum and ball on 13 yard line. You think TD all the way. Play to win. Unfortunately the play calling was horrendous.
We are also talking about a kicker that was on the couch a few days ago.

In theory don't mind going for it on fourth down. Fortune favours the brave and all that.
The plays called were horrendous though. On the first one, make sure the throw travels beyond the yard marker. On the second, make sure the intended receiver knows he has to turn around.

I would have kicked FG's. Bowles chased points tonight and failed. I am really starting to wonder if he knows what he is doing. At times, he looks to be in over his head. LOL.

LOL. what would have been the distances? I just don't think they have enough faith and trust and experience with Bullock to try that , like you can count on Folk

Forget how long the first one was exactly but the second one was no longer than a extra point

I don't mind going for it but the play calls made no sense. Early 4th they pass on 3rd & 2 in a 4-down situation and this is right as Ivory started to get going. Have to run there.
Then you flip to the last page of the playbook and lob one to Kellen Davis. I think there was some miscommunication on the play as well because there was another receiver running right next to him.
Throwing a pass at the line of scrimmage and then relying on Marshall to break a tackle. Just mind boggling stuff.

Once it was 2d and 2 from the 4, I would have went heavy with Shel at FB (he's done it before), and hand it to Ivory telling him to just follow Shel.
