The second season of this HBO series just concluded the other night, and no one would take you to task for not knowing that as viewership has been low. What you could be taken to task for is not seeing one of the best written, well acted TV shows in recent memory. People like to say that a great singer could belt out the phone book and people would listen. Same goes for this show; the acting is just so strong you kind of forget about the main premise, that of an unexplained, worldwide, mass disappearance of 2% of the world's population. Do yourself a favor and give it a watch.

I was pretty excited about the first season since it's run by the same people who did lost, and lost was one of my favorite shows of all time. The first season of leftovers however was pretty hard to get through. I punched out before the last two or three episodes.
Fast-forward to a month or so ago I started hearing good things about the second season decided to give it a look. No comparison! The second season of leftovers is out freaking standing! Some of these episodes have been so outstanding it's left me flabbergasted! I'd rank Fargo number one but leftovers is i A close close second is far is great TV. It is definitely worth slogging through the first season to get to this fantastic second season. I hope they renew it for a third.

First few episodes were REALLY depressing but I made it through, hoping for something to happen. I never got any answers so I read the book, no answers there either. I hope there is a little more substance in the 2nd season.

You do get some answers, but the episodes are just so well done, the suspense is fantastic, bunch of new characters, and the mystery is intriguing. Very "Lost" like. Im kind of obsessed with the theme song too.

Fargo season 1 was so ridiculously stupid and far fetched.
The Leftovers is definitely my favorite series on right now, although it is definitely not for everyone. Season Two started off super super strong but kind of faded a bit in my opinion with all the supernatural afterlife stuff they added.
I also didn't like the finale, but it is a great, albeit weird and frustrating series.
Season 2 also losses points for not having mega asian hottie Annie Q (christine in season 1) in it.

Very "Lost" like. Im kind of obsessed with the theme song too. It's supposed to be cathartic and depressing at the same time, so knowing that going in made it less of a downer for me. But Nora's character and that theme song, yeeesh.

Ive been watching every week. I was a bit disappointed to see them go the supernatural route but I agree the acting is phenomenal and the use of sound and music is amongst the best I have seen on TV. The show is very well-made.
Not to change topics but do any of you watch The Knick? Thats another one of my favorite shows right now. I also think Homeland is having a pretty good season after what I thought was a weaker one last year.
and the use of the Pixies "Where is My Mind" this season was fantastic. Very apropos for the show. They used several different variations throughout the season.
