December 20, 2003The 2003 season marked the 40th anniversary of the renaming of the Jets franchise from Titans to Jets. Throughout that season, the Jets had a season-long poll for fans to vote for their favorite Jets players going back to 1963. The fan favorites were revealed during halftime of a 21-16 loss to New England on 12/20/03:

Also on December 20, in 1996, Rich Kotite announced that he would step down as head coach of the Jets at the conclusion of the season. Two days later the Jets would fall to Miami 31-28, ending his 4-28 two season run.

I think the only two players that might change from that list 12 years ago would be Mangold in Mawae out, and Revis in Hasty out.

I think the only two players that might change from that list 12 years ago would be Mangold in Mawae out, and Revis in Hasty out. Yup, I would also swap Mo in for Abraham as DE. Would like to find a spot for Chrebet, but I am not sure who you swap out. |
