Nah..you guys are right. Lets go with Geno...he'll win enough games to get the Jets into the playoffs this year. I've seen the light. Fuck you Fitz. Go read yet another book. Geno will be the guy everyone rallies around. He will be the leader in the locker room. He and Marshall will easily replicate the chemistry that they had with Fitz. . I have complete and total confidence that Geno Smith will be a top 10 QB, and throw for 30 tds and run for 5 more... I'm ordering my Geno jersey now... lol from your mouth to gods ears....stranger things have happened....hell we signed fitz to be a backup this year and by some freak of circumstance he wound up not only being a starter but gave us the best season a QB has ever had in a jets uniform.....lol personally I think its because we finally had a competent OC, two good receivers and a running back who knew how to properly step on a throat...Fitz played good enough under the circumstances but there is no fucking way in hell he can/will replicate those numbers and thus deserving the contract he wants. If my wife hasnt swallowed in ten years and all of the sudden swallowed everyday the month of my birthday I doubt very seriously I'd be shopping to upgrade her ring because I now expect her to have a big gulp everyday moving forward.

[ Seriously sick of futz. He will not b better than last year and last year wasn't good enough. Never made the playoffs? Ever!!! And never will. I want him gone. Would rather start almost anyone else than futz - geno, petty, a rookie, someone we get via a trade, some bus driver we sign, etc. I don't care but I don't want to waste time with a QB who is not our QB of the future. As for your more pressing problem - just tell ur wife that the difference between like and love is spit and swallow. And if she doesn't then she doesn't love u. If that's the case then u need a mistress who loves u. Good luck!

Their other option is Geno. AND FITZPATRICK KNOWS IT!!!!!! Tell you the truth with the schedule the way it is this year the real Fitz will show up. start Genoa and save the money use it to get Wilkerson a long term deal. And draft a QB with potential and shore up the OL Fitz is not worth 16 million and why destroy this teams roster to pay for a back up QB. Last year was a mirage and the Buffalo game showed that. It seem every other team thinks that way nobody wants him Cleveland just signed RG3 rather than give Fitz his 16 million Denver traded for Mark Sanchez. In fact if I'm the Jets I cut his pay in half to 3.5 million when he begs for his job back. I'm going to be politically incorrect here - I'll be honest, most of the time I don't speak my mind because my belief system regarding the Jets is along the lines of my belief system in life, very much the outlier. Fitz is like Chad good in a short game but has a ceiling because he has no deep ball accuracy. Unless you have an historic pass rush that will get your offense back the ball, you need a qb that is accurate in the short to medium game but can also hit the deep ball on a consistent basis. Right now because of a greatly diminished Peyton's farewell tour riding Denver's ferocious pass rush, game managers are back in style this off season. Fitz, Genope, McCown, Hoyer - it does not matter these are all stepping stones to a first round exit until we find pass rushers or a qb I like Fitz but yes, we should not invest anything more than what was offered by the Jets FO. Who cares if the market demands that he is compensated 12 - 18 a year ? Screw the market ! We are not going to the Superbowl with Fitz unless we uncover some incredible passrushers (Calvin Pyror is right but no one will admit it) or some great young qb and surround him with talent. Unlike you I don't think we should sign Wilkerson. I think he a great football player but clearly 16 million or more in one player unless they are an elite pass rusher or an elite qb is a waste of cap space. Wilkerson should be traded for draft picks, ideally packaged with out first to move up for a qb. And yes, I think signing Revis was madness, and done to appease Woody who wanted to appease the fan base. To hell with Hall of Fame football players, Super Bowl or bust... The way to the super bowl is tons of team-drafted football players still on their rookie contract and lots of injury-free luck. We need to replace our aging football players, Brick, Mangold and before you know it Marshall, Revis, David Harris

So in this article (which is very good by the way - thank you nyjets1969) the writer quotes from a self-described unemployed football writer guy Cian Fahey who has this extensive online stats breakdown article that can be purchased for $9 and change via paypal. It is called Pres-snap Reads and Fahey (having some down time when he is not walking his labradors in Ireland) breaks down every passes thrown by a quarterback with over 250 pass attempts in the the NFL football season. So to be clear, he critiques every 250+ throws qb individually based on his analysis of their every throw. Here is the link presnapreads.com/2016/02/19/about-the-pre-snap-reads-quarterback-catalogue-2016/In it, Fahey tears Fitzpatrick a new back estuary based on several factors, including the fact that he was surrounded by talent, is incredibly inaccurate and simultaneously incredibly lucky with dropped interceptions by opposing defensive players. Fahey for the most part is spot on except if one is objective he gets carried away with hyperbole describing Fitzpatrick "His arm has diminished to the point that he has to wind up his throws like a cartoon character when throwing further than 10 yards downfield." Clearly Fitzpatrick has limited arm strength but I have not seen any cartoon character winds ups.

i'll tell you, after seeing that highlight video, it's going to be hard to argue against him. for what it's worth genot does seem to be making his throws effortlessly and the balls are out in front of the receivers. he could really help a guy like devin smith. It's 2016. We landed a man on the Moon almost 50 years ago. We've separated Siamese Twins and split the atom. It's about time we asked ourselves why we can't use these next 3 months to transplant Ryan Fitzpatrick's head onto Geno Smith's body. It really is the next big "outside the box" idea in pro football....like the West Coast offense and now, analytics in baseball. The Jets need to be pioneers here. Like in basketball, you can't teach hight, at QB you can't teach instincts, and Geno has neither. If you don't have patients, poise and most of all instincts, you can never make as an NFL QB. Geno possess none of these things, he sucks and frankly I can't beleive he is even still on the roster. As son as Geno is cut he will go by the wayside of the Jesus Freak and the spoiled little rich fuck face, all three of them can watch games on Sunday at fuck faces mansion his Dady bought him.

I agree on offering the beard more of the money guaranteed but even if you guaranteed all of what the Jets are purportedly (15 million over two year?) would the beard accept it? should the beard accept it? I think he should accept it, will he ? I dunno. I read somewhere that Fitzpatrick's classmates make a lot more money than he does. If that is true (I'm a cynic) he should bloody well retire and go work for a hedge fund.

As far as the wife is concerned, I said IF my wife hasnt swallowed in ten years.........lol the difference between a wife and a girlfriend is a spit and a swallow. You dont get to wife status without it. :-)

I'm by no means sold on Geno. He still hasn't proved that he has it between the ears to be a consistent NFL starter. I do believe he has the physical skills....more so than Fitz. That being said, he went 8-8 as a rookie having coming from a similar system as Petty and his WRs in 2013 were: Santonio Holmes Jeremy Kerley David Nelson Saalim Hakim Greg Salas.
Not sure Fitzy could've done much better with that crew.
No question he regressed in 2014. Had the "time change" issue as well when they played at SD. The team added Decker that year (if I recall he was nicked up for a good portion) and Harvin.
I'm ok with seeing what he can do with legitimate NFL weapons and a 2nd year in the offense. He will get a quick hook if his play on the field costs us games. If Fitz wants really wants 16 million per, given our schedule this year and his track record, I say let him walk.

All this talk about fitz is such a waste of time. He ain't taking us anywhere. Let the loser walk. I don't want him for 2 cents a year. Let the mick go play soccer in Ireland!!!! Or better yet, become an Irish nanny. Bartender is too important a job for that prick! Hit the bricks u mick!
