Like I been saying the Jets should let Fitzpatrick walk they are mortgaging the future for a back up QB. Use the 12 million on Wilkinson.

Costello got a call from Mo 's agent huh? Look the Jets can hold him for another three yrs by franchising him and making only single yr commitments... Meanwhile what's best for the Jets is to see how their cap looks in 2 yrs and find out who they can keep long term.. Which is why they should wait til Fitz crumples for 5 mil...

I hate Geno but I have a feeling he is going to have a big year he is playing for his career and he knows it. Just a feeling and maybe Mac knows it too and why he isn't so fast to give in. From what I have been reading Geno looks like the game is slowing down for him.

Money talks and is the biggest motivator ever in this world. Even more than death. Almost be stupid to not see what happens. Fits had his shot. Win and in against his old team in the place he knows more than any modern buffalo Qb. He shit all over himself. We know what we have with him. A mid round pick in 2017 we can't even trade away. No fuckin way is he worth 12m

"Teams, including the Jets, love to say you build your team through the draft. Well, Wilkerson is one of the few players the Jets have drafted in the past decade who was a good pick. Why would you let him walk away?" Can' t really argue with that logic.

Part of building through the draft is replenishing theough the draft. Even some of your good draft picks need to be replaced bc of the salary cap. Cant pay everyone.
I would like a deal to get done but if they feel Sheldon or Leo will be the guys then they should put the money elsewhere. Thats how you run a team. Tough decisions.

Like Mac said when he came on board, you need to build a pipeline, since you cant keep everyone.

I think they should pay Mo and let Sheldon walk when the time comes. Mo has been a model player while Richardson gets flakier and flakier. Let him become someone else's problem

I really thought Mo was going to be gone before the draft. Then I thought he would be gone before OTAs. I never gave much thought to actually tagging him twice, but the more I think of it the more it makes sense. No guaranteed money/ cap hit spread out if he got injured other than the current year and you still get the comp pick down the line. That Vernon deal with the Giants really screwed up everything. It sucks but what can you do?

Either they work out a longterm deal in the next couple months or he hits the market next year and we get a 3rd round comp pick in 2018.
