NBC is reporting that Mike Smith will be fired tomorrow morning so it's pretty official. He is available as HC now, if there's still anyone out there that thinks he is a good coach. And of course an opening for Rex.

Back in Oct, sports radio here in LA was reporting that Blank was going to fire Smith at the end of the season too. The host and another guess (cannot recall) predicted that Rex would land there as ATL's next HC. As a Rex supporter, I did not want to see this happen. Given the devastating loss at home today for the Falcons, I can see it. Rex loves being a Jet. He brought our morbid franchise an identity. He went toe-to-toe with that fucking scumbag up in NE from day one and, despite not having the HOF QB under center, gave NE all it could handle even with VaGeno as QB (in fact with VaGeno, 3 Ls all by a FG or less and 1W). Rex can be my coach any day and every Sunday!

I get that you like the guy, but stop making it out to be like we're making some kind of grave mistake by getting rid of the fucking guy. Could the Jets hire a HC that is potentially worse than Rex Ryan? Sure Just like we could potentially hire a HC that could bring this team from the depths of obscurity and perhaps win a championship sometime within the next decade before a fucking croak from a mass aneurysm.

I get that you like the guy, but stop making it out to be like we're making some kind of grave mistake by getting rid of the fucking guy. True. However, many of those Ls were within a FG or less. Not to mention the one game that really counted (AFCD) in 2010 Rex beat the shit out of the cheating hoodie. Inferiority complex, nope. But since the cheaters are always held up as some high standard I figured I would mention them. As fo winning a championship sometime within the next decade, I believe in Rex'a ability to get the job done as long as he is provided the players. He can coach. Funny you should say I am making a big deal about Rex when you are here arguing that Melty Ice is a franchise QB. How well has that worked out for Atlanta the past 8 seasons?

"I didn't come here to kiss Bill Homeless Hoodie's rings" (6 years later) "Well, we kinda tried" Hey, I was in Boston when Rex embarrased your fucking team and had you bitches booing Brady and Belichoke off of the field in Fucksboro. Were you there too? Maybe that was before your time, or past your curfew. But it was fucking epic. If only for the massive ass-ripping your "faithful" showed... bunch of pussies. And you STILL aint won shit.

UT- I don't think anyones really fighting tooth and nail for Rex like you make it out to be.
You just have an unhealthy hate for the guy. Want that "bitter divorce" as it were.

I don't hate the guy, I just find it absurd that there are people who still want to keep the guy. And there are only two explanations: A) You're in love with his "down to earth, likeable persona" and/or B) You're still clinging to those two AFC championship games from a half decade ago in which his vaunted defense totally failed us Of course I want a divorce. Only a total fucking goof wouldn't want a divorce. 4 straight years of missing the playoffs and an offense that is seemingly stuck in reverse coupled with a coach who seemingly doesn't give a shit and a defense that keeps getting worse year after year. And if Rex isn't putting a Top 5 defense on the field every year, then what fucking good is he? Good for a sound bite, maybe.

The same repeated mistakes are really disheartening. Can't blame him for the corners tho. There were a LOT of guys he wanted, and needed, who wanted to come here... And Idzfuck sabotaged him. Just so happens he fuxked himself too.

Just so happens he fuxked himself too. If Rex showed some ability to adapt to 21st century football, then we probably wouldn't even be having the discussion of getting rid of him, which is now 99.9% likely to happen. I get that he's a likeable guy and he certainly has his positives...but the negatives have started to heavily outweigh the positives. And that's all I'm really getting at. Rex will show his strengths here and there at being able to outwit and frustrate a truly elite QB like SparklePony, Peyton or Rodgers...but if he's going to turn right around and allow a QB like Kyle Orton or EJ Manuel to make him look like a fucking goof...then what are we really gaining here? There comes a time when it's best for both parties to go their separate ways, and we've reached that point with Rex. Hell, you could easily argue that we've gone beyond that point with Rex. Woody should've just cleaned house after that shitshow in 2012 that made us look like a bunch of fucking clowns.
