UT,
Who do you have replacing Rex? Because the next coach has to be better. Also, I respectfully suggest you read Jetstream's post on Rex remaining as coach. I don't recall the thread but it is an excellent assessment.
Once again, Rex has his faults. All coaches do. By the way, no team will win when your QB commits 6/7 turnovers as did VaGeno and Vick vs. Buffalo (you cited Orton/EJ Manuel). When the Jets offense plays smart football (no turnovers and scores some points) the Jets win. Last week we had NE on the ropes. Defense only allowed 17 points. Yet, 4 trips into the redzone and 0 points. Similar to game 1 against NE when the Jets had 5 trips into the redzone in the first half and scored 12 points.

NBC is reporting that Mike Smith will be fired tomorrow morning so it's pretty official. He is available as HC now, if there's still anyone out there that thinks he is a good coach. And of course an opening for Rex. Been sayin Rex to ATL for a long ass time now. Atlanta will go 10 years without a playoff run with REX at the Helm. I see nothing in Atlanta that REX can work with...or perhaps ruin . Ryan is not that good and REX will ignore the offense. Another team who's owner stays on the sideline.

I would take take Dimitroff in a heart beat. The team has plenty of talent. Just no balls at all. That is on the coach not the GM. Completely agree. They do need some more pieces on defense though. Their OL has been decimated by injuries two years in a row and that has been the biggest culprit. I disagree...yes Dmitroff acquired plenty of talent on the offense. But did next to nothing trying to improve the DL and the OL. Matt Ryan has been massacred the last 2 years, he is lucky that he can still walk. I would pass on Dmitroff.

Their OL has suffered a lot of injuries the last two years with key guys going down early in the season. It has been more bad luck that anything. No team has OL depth. And he did draft Jake Matthews 6th overall last year. I agree with you that he should have done more to help the defense but that is the consequences when you trade the farm for Julio Jones. I think that team is a playoff team that has no balls or personality and IMO that is mainly on the HC. Rex would fit in well b.c he would inject some life and attitude into that team but it would only be a three year proposition b.c I don't think you can expect Rex to develop players. Falcons have a small window so I think it is a good match. I would let Rex come in and be the old Rex. Let his star burn as bright as it can and hope you cash in before it burns out.
