From who? The only place that makes the slightest bit of sense is Atlanta. They already have an explosive offense in place headed by a legitimate franchise QB. Although I guess the Raiders would be dumb enough to go after him thus basically ending Derek Carr's promising career. im not going to argue about his coaching abilities me and you see it very different I think I'm right you think your right time will tell, but cbs pre game had three teams interested in Rex also the buerline and tasked both wouldn't Fire him could all be bullshit but where there is smoke there is fire. Plus the fact that Rex has come out and say he will Not take a dc position I've never said that Rex is god awful as a coach. But he needs to be put in a certain situation to succeed. Who in their right mind would hire Rex if they're a young, rebuilding team with a young QB behind center? As I said, only the Raiders would be so utterly fucking clueless. If he's going to get another HC job within the next month, then Atlanta is the only team that makes sense. I've heard some throw San Fran around as a possibility, but that's batshit crazy IMO. Rex is the last guy that I'd want trying to get Kaepernick back on track.

Clean house means firing practically everyone in the building. Firing the GM but leaving the CS in limbo is how we got here in the first place! NO MORE FUCKING HALF MEASURES!!!!!
If this happens we're fucked until Woody dies or sells the team..,,,no joke!

Yup that seems to be the theme throughout the media. And why not? The guy provides them excellent sound bites. Well, imo, he's the best NYJ HC in my lifetime. Yes, better than the Tuna. I agree, but that's not saying much if you really think about it.

If Rex isn't gone by tomorrow morning, then this team really is fucked until Woody either croaks or sells the team. His infatuation with this clown is fucking weird to say the least. or he is doing the smartest thing possible for his franchise and leaving all the coaching decisions up to his new GM who is a football guy not an accountant type. No where does this say Rex will be retained. It's says it willbe up to the new GM This. Why should Woody fire both Idzik and Rex? He should fire Idzik, hire a competent GM who is a true football guy and then let that guy decide whether or not to retain a HC who is already under contract. It's the same thing with players....should Woody make a decision on Harvin? No, you let your football guy do that. Same thing with the Head Coach IMO.

This is just so sensible and thoughtful approach.

He's like a freaking cockroach. Spray him with bug spray, stomp on him, drop a nuclear bomb on him and he still survives. What must it take?

If Casserly & Wolf likes Rex as the coach, don't be surprised to see him back here.

As much as I want Rex gone, I'd have no problem letting a strong GM candidate that we hire make the decision on his fate (without Woody's input).

The one saving grace might be that Atlanta is getting embarrassed. This might force Woody's hand, as he might really cost Rex his one shot at a job next year if he lets Rex twist in the wind and ATL moves quickly on their search. Hopefully that is the case both firings and are announced tomorrow.

Rex Ryan was ecstatic with the victory, but he didn't want to discuss he future, saying he didn't want to detract from the players and the win. The likely-to-be-fired coach said he has yet discuss his job status with owner Woody Johnson, who attended the game and made a brief appearance in the post-game locker room.
"It's not the appropriate time to talk about my situation," Ryan said. "Just understand, I'm not afraid of anything. I'm not afraid of what lies ahead, I can tell you that."
Ryan said he's "proud" to be the coach of the Jets. He refused to be drawn into a discussion on the ideal timeline -- i.e. when he'd like to know his fate.
"Last time I checked, I'm under contract," he said. "Whatever happens, happens."
• Johnson, surrounded by his security detail and other management types, emerged from the locker room and walked briskly to a waiting car outside the stadium. He declined to stop for reporters, saying, "Today is all about the players."
But Monday will be all about Johnson, who is expected to fire Ryan and general manager John Idzik. Look for Johnson to have a late-morning news conference to announce his plans for the future.
• The embattled Idzik was one of the last people out of the locker room; maybe he was hoping the reporters would be gone by then. They weren't. A grim-faced Idzik, who hasn't talked to the media since his infamous midseason news conference, walked quickly out of the stadium, offering no comment on reports that he will be sacked.
"I'll get you guys later," he said.
