He's young and cheap, he'll be around next season.
His fate depends on the new HC/GM combo. Will they aggressively try to obtain a new QB, or will they be content with seeing how Geno responds in a new offense.
Since we already played ourselves out of the QB sweepstakes back in Tennessee, I was perfectly fine with drafting Cooper and going with the latter, but NO Geno had to go out and get a random game with a perfect rating!

I like how everyone is focused on Geno's "great game" but seem to forget that ugly fumble. How do you play football your whole life and not learn how to carry it?!?!?!? I think Geno's strong self belief is one of his greatest qualities but also one of his worse qualities. He believes that he can be a super hero, carry a ball like the statue of liberty and win the day. Geno's limitations are in his head, he is delusional ... possibly secretly believing he is Brett Favre.

The next HC/GM that comes in will provide him with legit competition with a FA and possible rookie in the draft. Lets face it Geno was put in a bad spot back in 2013...no one to throw to, a suspect offensive line, a and a coach that believes in a prehistoric offensive game plan. We saw what he can do when the offense is opened up so at the very least the new HC should take a look and see how he performs with a new offense.

"So what now with Geno Smith?"
Who gives a fuck?
I want a new QB for this team. I do not want this immature pussy QB'ing next season.
This clown who only manages to step up and play like a Real QB when the pressure is completely off and wilts like a Erectile-Dysfunctional Penis when it's on.

You left out "we saw what he can do when" playing against a team that already quit. The dolphins had no fight in them and got NO pressure on Geno all game. The real Geno lies somewhere between the horrible debacle we saw in the first Buffalo game 2/8 for 5 yards and 3 ints and yesterdays game. That is a huge chasm so we really have no idea who Geno is after 2 years of being a staring QB.

Geno will be on the roster on 2015 and will likely be allowed to compete for the starting job. That said, he faced little pressure in the pocket yesterday, the Miami secondary played like they had all attended Johnny Manziel's Friday night party in Cleveland and drove all the way back. The tight ends were wide open, Geno was left free to run from the pocket ... yesterday the Miami cornerbacks were worse, yes worse, than the Jets cornerbacks. Yesterday the defense of Miami made Geno look like a superstar, it was bad college football on defense . Much like Mark Sanchez, Geno cannot read defenses except when facing a varsity defense.

He has ABSOLUTELY no idea when the blitz is coming and no idea how to adjust. The early sack he took was just horrible, it was an obvious blitz and he made no adjustment and got sacked in 2 seconds.

I'd be curious to see what Geno becomes if he gets adequate coaching by a decent position coach. Unfortunately it will probably be with another team in 5 or 6 years.

He will be back but he is going to have to compete. He isnt going to be handed the job a competent GM will bring in a seasoned veteran to compete and will draft a QB in the mid rounds as insurance if Geno can't win the starting Job. Geno will get 1 more year because most QBS take an average of 3 to 5 years to fully develop so Geno will get 1 more year under a new GM.

Get a coach that's going to be focused on helping Geno develop the mental part of the game. Focus first, second and third on the oline this offseason (look at Dallas), and watch him grow as a QB.

Can they please fire Eric Allen along with the coach and the GM. His snail-pace voice over on NYJets site videos is painful to listen to.

No reason to cut him, he is young and cheap. Keep him around and bring 2 more QBs in. Get rid of Vick and Simms.

The Dolphins and Jets played this last game like the Washington Generals play the Globetrotters. (or like a NBA allstar game) Accept of course when you get a shot at the quarterback! Clean house includes Geno I hope.
