I think everyone wants him to start. He isn't active. Hopefully next week.

Abso-fucking- lutely. Let's see what we have in him because it's obvious that Geno and Fitz are gonners.

If the FO and coaching staff is going to make a change and I'm not sure they are ready, it HAS to be to Petty.
He's had the potential to be a true franchise QB.
He's got work to go but he had everything you'd want in a QB to lead your franchise.
I think he already had the trust of some of the ledgers on offense.

Here's the thing, we NEED to see Petty play this year and play well because I don't want to be aywehre near tempeted to take one of these QBs at the top of the draft.

We have to keep our 4 man QB roster filled. Just re-sign Shitz and Geno. Pick up another washed up vet to fill Geno's spot until he is ready to come off PUP next year.

Ouch. So Eric Decker was just on his weekly spot on the Hahn and Humpty show and he may have spoken out of turn. Original reports were that Petty had a "bruise" and that there was no structural damage. www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000694151/article/injury-roundup-jets-petty-suffers-bruised-shoulderNew York Jets quarterback Bryce Petty exited Thursday night's preseason finale against the Philadelphia Eagles after sustaining a big hit in the first quarter. Jets coach Todd Bowles said Friday that Petty suffered a bruised shoulder with no structural damage. The team is still waiting to see assess his recovery time and will not place Petty on injured reserve before cuts to the 53-man roster are finalized.H & H were asking about Petty and his readiness to play--he is pretty high on him, called him a gamer--and Decker said that he "had that AC joint injury". An AC joint injury is a shoulder separation, severity being the issue. Not a bruise. It didn't LOOK like a bruise, it looked like something that would cause a seperation so I'm wondering if it was much worse than we were led to believe. _

I'm wondering if it was much worse than we were led to believe. ==================================================== Yes maybe, but the fact that he has been back at practice for over 2 weeks leads one to believe that his shoulder/AC is okay now?

Yeah, I'm hopeful but I hate hearing shoulder separation for a QB with a rocket arm. _

Yeah, I'm hopeful but I hate hearing shoulder separation for a QB with a rocket arm. _ ================================================= I hear ya, then again as far as shoulder injuries go the "AC" is not one that should linger after proper rehab, at least that's my impression from a little bit of Googleing.. And not that Bowles is going to show his cards but according to him Petty's issue is reps and not health. Whatever, looks like Fitz is the guy for the near future.
