@steiny31 4m4 minutes ago Jim Mora is heading to NY to interview for the #Jets head coaching job, per @bruinreport. Looks like Mora is looking to shakedown UCLA for a few more dollars. I'll throw in a c-note if it helps to keep that boob at UCLA.

Yeah, I don't buy that he's a serious candidate. I still think it ultimately comes down to either Quinn or Marrone at HC and Kirchner or Maccagnan at GM. I'm still kind of disappointed that Gase and Hamilton have not even been talked to in this process. It's pretty evident that Casserly and Wolf have advised against the young coordinator for this job. I'm not as high on Pep Hamilton as some people, but the seeming lack of interest in Gase is a little disappointing.

If the Jets announce a coach this week that means it won't be Quinn since he's still coaching in the playoffs. They won't announce anything Wednesday either bc they are interviewing Reich and Bowles on Wednesday. I would think it would be Friday at the earliest. All of their interviews will be done by Wednesday. I think they will announce a GM by the end of the week at the latest. If they don't announce a head coach by the end of the week than I think that means Quinn is their guy and they're going to wait till the Seahawks season is over to announce it while having a handshake agreement in place with him. Not necessarily I clearly remember Charlie Weis committing to Notre Dame before the Pats* won the Superbowl that year. It's totally possible that the Jets already have a verbal commitment from Quinn/Kirchner.

It's totally possible that the Jets already have a verbal commitment from Quinn/Kirchner. Quinn seems to want to work with a more experienced GM candidate than Kirchner. The Jets contacted a few more GM candidates shortly after the Quinn interview, so maybe there's a connection. Quinn and Grier? My dream would be Quinn and Dimitroff, if the Falcons are dumb enough to actually fire him.

Gase and Hamilton are still coaching and neither had a bye week. Did either of them interview for jobs last week?

He holds some blame for the issues in Atlanta. Specifically trading 5 draft picks (2 1sts, 1 2nd, 2 4ths) for Julio Jones.

@jetswhispers 18m18 minutes ago "Several league sources maintaining [the Jets] are likely to be the first team to name a new coach this week." - Jason La Canfora of CBS. My guess is Wednesday Jets are first in line to interview Todd Bowles. He's the hottest candidate. Woody better be prepared to make him a serious offer -- checkbook in hand -- and have a GM in the wings to make this happen before he leaves Florham Park. He's had some interim HC experience and his defense resembles Rex's. I think he's the target, followed by Quinn.

I like the guy and he's my 3rd choice behind Marrone and Quinn, but he's by no means some kind of guaranteed success as a HC.

@jasonlacanfora: Jets still have more candidates to speak to, but I hear Doug Marrone's interview with them did not go well. Dan Quinn well positioned now

He knows offense and running QB's.
