1) Has a 3-day opt out clause with the new owner 2) Has completely turned around that franchise and destroyed us this year. 3) Knows the AFC East 4) Was on our staff in the past 5) Offensive mind, well regarded in the league 6) Knew when kick EJ Manuel to the curb. Took balls.
He is the only guy who might be available that excites me. Discuss

I'd take him over a rookie coordinator, I think he got the most out of that roster in Buffalo and he is a more or less known commodity

Let me get this straight, so we fire Rex (one of the best, if not the best, defensive minds in the game)to replace him with Marrone? Thanks, but no thanks. Woody firing Rex had better find someone as good or better than Rex. Or else, we are in deep shit as a franchise.

People tend to remember the games against Peyton and SparklePony he kept us in defensively, and forget the same number of games we lost because we came out flat after a bye or long week, gave too much respect for the opponent, or mismanaged our timeouts. If we could get a coach who is solid in the fundamentals of preparation and ingame management it will more than offset the presence of Rex's defensive genius.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with "one of the best, if not the best, defensive minds in the game". Rex's defenses were regularly scored on in clutch situations. His defense was 24th in points allowed, really the only defensive statistic that counts. sounds pretty below average to me. Plus, Marrone beat "one of the best, if not the best, defensive minds in the game" twice this year. Sounds like an upgrade to me.

The margin of the Buffalo Bills over the Jets this year. Keep convincing yourself that Rex is so much better than Marrone.

I think Jim Schwartz turned that team around more than anything.

Yeah well we're not playing against the Rex Jets every game with half of them coming off a bye week. And Buffalo has a far better roster on Offense. What's their excuse?!

Marrone credited with a lot of Saints offensive success while he was there. Like what he's done in Buffalo considering the train wreck he took over.
Be worth a shot but had no idea he would be available much less interested.

I don't know how to multi-quote on this site, so please accept this reply to the others above too. 81-26? Did you watch the games? Only asking because if you did you would know that many of those 81 points were a direct result of the turnovers by the offense (combo of VaGeno and Vick, but mostly VaGeno). Yeah, but let's balme Rex's defense.

Why would he leave Buffalo to come here? He built up that program to a respectable level, just on the cusp of possibly being a playoff team soon, and he's going to walk away from that and start over?
