0% chance of the Jets leaving NY...ever
Despite having a near Cleveland like history as a franchise, they are still one of the more valuable sport franchise there is....because of the NY market.

So where's the big announcement? I've heard nothing You were the one scooping it. You tell me. I guess this is the big announcement Jets owner Woody Johnson addressed the media today. He would not commit to a mandate of making the Playoffs in 2017 for Todd Bowles and Mike Maccagnan to retain their jobs. On if there is mandate to make the playoffs in year three… No. I don’t really like mandates because they normally don’t work - lines in the sand or whatever. You don’t want to judge it that way. The way we’ll judge it is getting better each and every year, and seeing it in our players, our young players - are they getting better or are they going the other way.

Got it. 6-10 is good, then. Pool, or a pond.

I think Woody has the right idea. It is going to take time to build a team the right way.

I think Woody has the right idea. It is going to take time to build a team the right way. I finally get it. You, Woody Pecker and Bowels have some kind of triangle thing going. That's cool, it's a PC world. Just chill on the endorsements because all it takes is one meeting in the piss tub at westworld and you are history to them.

There are no quick fixes for what ails the jets. Hard work, good drafting, and time is the only remedy. And I love that woody finally realizes this fact and wants to build a franchise that will be competitive year after year. You'll be thanking me three years from now.

There could be players available as free agents who could help this team. hopefully you would support the signing of those players. lets bring back Kyle Burnt Toast Wilson. This team needs his leadership qualities.

Then they are screwed because Macc hasn't drafted well. Worst roster in the NFL. You can't fix a talent depleted through the draft in 2 seasons. I think Mac has done Ok in his 2 drafts. 11 of 13 picks look like keepers as starters or important role players going forward. Plus, Robbie Anderson and Jalin Marshall were excellent non-drafted free agent picks. Sure there are a couple of potential stinkers -- Devin Smith, Hackenberg -- but if Hackenberg becomes an above average starter (doubtful but possible), the 2016 draft goes from very good to great. 2016 1 Darron Lee 2016 2 Christian Hackenberg 2016 3 Jordan Jenkins 2016 4 Juston Burris 2016 5 Brandon Shell 2016 7 Lac Edwards 2016 7 Charone Peake 2015 1 Leonard Williams 2015 2 Devin Smith 2015 3 Lorenzo Mauldin 2015 4 Bryce Petty 2015 5 Jarvis Harrison 2015 7 Deon Simon Go ahead an compare this draft to the previous 5. By comparison, Mac's drafts are home runs. While Rex was coach the Jets strung together bad drafts like no other team. You can survive a bad drafts here or there, but once you string together 4 or 5, your team is screwed. This is why they Jets only recent success has occurred when they signed free agents and made trades. Their cupboard has been bare for years. Mac and Bowles have a 4 to 5 year project re-building this team the right way. There are no quick fixes.

Mac and Bowles have a 4 to 5 year project re-building this team the right way. There are no quick fixes. Indeed. He hasn't hit on every pick (what GM does?) but he has drafted well overall, with impressive success in the later rounds with guys like Shell, Peake and Simon. He hit a home-run with Williams, and added 5 potential long-term starters (Lee, Jenkins, Burris, Shell, Edwards) last year plus a quality WR prospect in Peake and a potential QB solution in Hack. You can't really blame him for Smith's and Mauldin's injury woes, and both guys have talent and remain good prospects. The Harrison pick was obviously a dud, and I was personally never a fan of picking Petty (a 24 year old rookie in need of at least 3 years development) although I remain hopeful he can be a backup at least. I would have gone for Brett Hundley with that pick (21 year old rookie, experience in a pro style scheme) but that's just me. But, overall, I give Macc a solid B for his drafts thus far.

In my opinion Idzik was in complete control on those drafts. I wasn't in the draft room, but what happened with regards to Geno Smith his rookie year, tells me, that Idzik pulled all the strings. There were multiple stories about the coaching staff not believing Smith was ready, but he was our starter, because he was Idzik's guy.

Where are you hearing this? I've looked online for like 15 minutes and don't see anyone mentioning an announcement Thursday. I heard it on ESPN radio today, a brief update. I don't see anything online either or I would have put in a link I think you may have misheard them. I thought I heard them say something about a big announcement for ESPN Radio. I think it had to do with Stephen A Smith coming back or something like that.
