He has already said he won't take a DC job, no?

If our offensive play-calling continues to be equal to a JV high school team's, you or I could be their DC and have success against the Jets.

As we all should know by now, what Rex says and what is reality are most often two separate things. What HC will he get? Rex limited the QB from not only developing, but even throwing while insisting upon ground and pound. Add to that his reckless predictions and bravado and you have a recipe for GM's and owners alike to stay away. It's a QB-driven league and there's no bigger QB killer than Rex. Why Atlanta would want him even for an interview after a failed defensive coach is beyond me.
You have to admit, scheming against the Bills and the Jets would be fun for him. I could connect this dot. On this site, I've always placed him in Washington as DC and with Haslett getting canned yesterday, that door is open.

It's gonna be sick when Rex gets the Bills job and brings in Sanchez. Then we get Marrone and Orton comes out of retirement to sign with us.

I don't buy for a second that Rex goes back to being a DC.
If he can't land the job in Atlanta, I think he goes on TV for at least a year or two.
He's one of the most recognizable coaches in the NFL and still is considered by many to be the brightest defensive mind in the NFL, although I personally don't see it.
He's not going to go back to being a guy in the shadows when he's been squarely in the limelight for the last 6 years, even when undeserved.

I don't agree that Rex is still considered a great defensive mind. Dan Quinn and Bowles have both surpassed Rex in that regard. In 2009 and 2010 Rex earned that reputation because the Jets were loaded with high priced free agents of his choosing and Revis. No where close to that the last 2 years.
that said, he will never be a a DC because he will essentially be neutered. Plus the $$ at ESPN will be too great.

Watch a replay of Week 16 vs. Tom B and the Pats*. The Jets lost two games to the AFC's #1 seed by a combined 3 points, and I can't remember who we lined up at CB in those games.

So where the hell was this when we were playing a team like the Bills headed by a coach that at least half of this board seems to object to? The Bills offense, headed by Marrone, not once but twice punked the hell out of Rex's defense this year. Not to mention our blowout loss against them last year and the narrow escape after the long bomb to Santonio Holmes. Yes, even with Cromartie and a healthy Dee Milliner, Rex's vaunted defense was still chewed apart by EJ Manuel and Co. (aka Doug Marrone).

be careful what you wish for I'm sure everyone in AFC East is worried about Rex's 15-21 record against the division. They're not worried about that. They're worried about the team that is smart enough to get him a QB.
