Rest in peace.
I don't watch sports center, but when I did 20 years ago, he was a trip.
Too young.

Hate to say it but as a Jets fan I kind of feel responsible. He was never the same after getting hit in the eye. One of the many reasons this franchise is cursed. i know he had a lazy eye but what does that have tondo with the jets? From his wiki Eye injury Scott was injured when hit in the face by a football during a New York Jets mini-camp on April 3, 2002,[5] while filming a special for ESPN. He underwent surgery that night and was out of work for a few months. Afterward he suffered from ptosis, or drooping of the eyelid.

That's one of the first things I thought about. They will be devastated. I know what it's like to lose a parent to cancer at a young age. No walk in the park I'll tell you that right now... Rest in Peace, Stuart, way too young to go My dad died when he was only 49 and I was 11, and it is devastating as a child. I cherish what few memories I have of my dad, but something like that changes you. At least, there is grief counseling and other support, but it's still an awful tragedy for them. My thoughts go out to Stuart's family. Oh, and cancer sucks! Lost my Mom when I was 13 to Cervical cancer. She was only 52 years old. I agree with everything you said. I'm so sorry for your loss at such a young age as well. May our parents rest in peace. Cancer blows.

That totally sucks. Does anyone know, was he off the air for the last couple months or was he on very recently?

That totally sucks. Does anyone know, was he off the air for the last couple months or was he on very recently? Hadn't made a TV appearance since July. This was his 3rd occurrence/recurrence of the same cancer. He had fought it since 2007. An incredibly strong man, devoted father, and great role model. He would leave Chemo treatments and go to the gym for a P90X workout. The guy always battled and had his priorities straight. There's a story of him watching his oldest daughter's first soccer game via FaceTime from a hospital bed. She scored 3 goals and they said the yelling from his room had nurses rushing in to see what was wrong. The happiest they'd seen him in months. RIP Stuart....one of the true good guys in this world.

One of the very few talking heads on ESPN (or anywhere) that I could tolerate.

I wasn't old enough to remember Jimmy V's speech live, but I will never forget Stuart Scott's. May he rest in peace.
