But I think Idzik is so terrible he messes up and sets us back another year or 2. Unless he's gone after this offseason we could end up with average signings and a Bevell as HC, that's mostly a recipe for mediocrity then failure.

Thats what scares me the most that Idzik is retained and we have to settle for a lesser qualified candidate, if Woody only hired Tom Gamble.

This should be the primary objective of the Jets offseason. Rex is a fucking dunce and whoever is in favor of bringing him back should lobotomize themselves with a dildo. It's time to totally clean house from top to bottom. Throw the bank at Jim Harbaugh and give him full control then do what it takes to draft Marcus Mariota in April. Designate Mike Iupati as your primary target in FA to shore up the OL, add a CB like Byron Maxwell or Chris Harris, and retain Harvin. A major, drastic shakeup is what is needed. Can't stand another year of this total ineptitude on offense. Sign me up...Would also be fine with Harbaugh taking Winston...

QB, 2 OL, a blocking TE, LB's that can actually pass defend, entire secondary....oh and a punter. 3 years top to fix this. With Idzik in charge, yeah. I'm sure half of the posters could get that done this offseason and then some.

Can't stand another year of this total ineptitude on offense. The 49ers had a trade with the Browns for Jim Harbaugh. That trade fell through because Harbaugh wife loves the Bay Area. So I don't see Harbaugh moving to the East coast under any circumstances..( if the 49ers don't want him some other west coast team will be glad to hire him(. Let's keep this in perspective. That was Cleveland. You can't blame any hausfrau for not wanting to go to god-forsaken Cleveland. New York's a different animal. It has sex appeal and life. Cleveland? Everyone's who hasn't already done so is desperately trying to leave. A great place to be from.

Unless the 49ers fire him we will have to trade for him. And the bidding starts with a #1. 9ers aren't dumb, they know teams want him even though they want to fire him. I disagree. Just wait for his release. Everyone knows he's done there. Teams don't throw away picks anymore.

I'm starting to think we may need OLine help more than QB And that's saying a lot Absolutely agree. Our o-line is a rusted sieve. If we draft Winston or Mariota and don't upgrade our o-line we're shooting ourselves in the foot.

If we draft Winston or Mariota and don't upgrade our o-line we're shooting ourselves in the foot. It's the Guard play that is killing us. Colon commits too many needless penalties, Odi (who has played far better than Winters) is a rookie learning on the fly. Put two solid Guards on that line and it immediately becomes an above average unit. But they do need to start thinking about finding replacements for Nick and Brick, they are getting long in the tooth.

We need to draft Mariotta at all cost.
At the same time we need help on the O-line, and the secondary.
The line backing core needs help. Pace is getting older, couples is a bust Davis is fine and David Harris is a beast who is getting older, we need to firm up that position.
All that being said, we need to go heavy in free agency to acquire those needs.
But if we don't have a franchise quarterback then we will never reach our pinnacle.

If we dwaft Winston or Mariota and don't upgrade our o-line we're shooting ourselves in the foot. That would be through FA as there are not any blue chip OLinemen in this dwaft. Some good OG's in FA who would instantly upgrade the entire line (and keep Winters far away from screwing up the LG position.) Orlando Franklin and Mike Iupati lead that position and yeah, this might be the highest priority FA signing. The OLine must be stabilized and this would go a long ways towards that.
The Jets are going to have some money to spend (and can free up more with cuts) and I wouldn't be opposed to getting Michael Crabtree especially should Harbaugh arrive. I'd also cut ties with Chris Johnson and sign another 49er in Frank Gore (for the same money) who's getting older and could split time with Ivory. The money is there and more than this, more will become available when they cut CJ as I mentioned, Harris, Harvin (while recouping a high 4th rounder) along with Colon (money towards Iupati), and Vick not to mention Babin, Pace and Landry. Iupati, Gore and Crabtree could easily be afforded and would all run the offense for Jim seamlessly.

I'm on board with this if Bringing in Harbaugh will force Idzik out which is even better. I rather have Cook if he comes out I'm tired of these run around pistol option QB. Just look at kaprenick, RG3, Cam Newton before the accident. These guys are not even in the league 5 Years and declining rather see the Jets draft Cook who runs a pro style offense and is classic dtop back passer.
