Breaking Bad episode "Ozymandius," the whole episode. Best single TV episode of all time. ok I thought the mad dance leading up to the axe to the collarbone of the Native American LEO was mind-blowing.

Wow..had forgotten those skits. Loved that show. Funny how many people simply did not get them at all. So many hilarious and innovative comedy ideas. You're right about lots of folks just not getting their brand of humor. I remember being a teenager and stumbling on the show while changing channels. Believe it was a Summer replacement for The Dean Martin Show of all things. Then went to PBS where they could show all the nudity and more risque stuff. Never missed a show. I remember those days...you could find the original SCTV on one channel...Python on another...Uncle Floyd on another...and a fuckin bullfight on another....and there were not that many channels.. Python showed to me that you could take the most ridiculous and ill-concieved idea...and if you commit to it...with some talent of course..and never ...it could work..an example being the Penguin on the Telly. If you had 1000 comedy groups try that...only this group of dudes could have pulled it off.

My Dad would always try to tune in the Italian channel (think it was 47), either fail or get a POS signal, and go into a fit. As for the Python guys? Each one had a unique talent. Whether it was writing, performing, or art direction, they somehow managed to become the forefront of sketch comedy. And later full up feature films. If you have never seen it, check out Terry Gilliam's "Brazil". It is so ahead of it's time. And who could forget the brilliant "Ruttles". Eric Idle wrote tunes which mirrored the Beatles' songs brilliantly. Here's the opening. The section with Idle as the TV reporter (at about 1:29in the video below) still makes me howl. As you said, just a simple concept executed perfectly by a comedy ace.

As for the Ruttles, I was one of the 30 people who actually bought the album they put out to support the project. I also thought it was hysterical they had an Indian guy playing George, lol.

Two of many, many faves. "Argument" is incredibly brilliant and clever. Such a brilliant fucking show

2 favorites I can think of immediately:
1. End of the Newhart show, where he wakes up in bed with his wife from the earlier Bob Newhart show (Suzanne Pleshette) and says he dreamed about owning an inn in Vermont
2. The end of the the ST TNG episode "The Defector": Romulans think they have Picard and the Enterprise and 3 Klingo ships de-cloak and crash the party. Awesome.

That one is a classic. Seeing "Emily" pop up in bed was an awesome, clever shocker.
