With the Bengals and Bears winning we move up to #8. Bucs losing kills us, we would have been at 7 if they won.
4th pick is the best we can hope for, but 6th or 7th may be realistic.
Root for:
49ers > Jax Texans > Steelers
Bengals > Ravens Texans > Colts 49ers > Rams Broncos > Chiefs Bears > Vikings Bucs > Saints
all look possible to me!

If the 9ers pull this out I think we will jump ahead of them. Their SOS should be better then ours due to the Jags record so far this year.
The question is next week we play the Pats (12-3) they play the Rams (11-4) will those two extra wins by the Pats drop us back below them after next week.

The teams dumb as fuck GM still needs to make the rite pick which he has so far proven unable to do and looks incompetent. But yes, a higher pick is better. Hoping for mayfield.

Some encouraging news for week 17...
Denver @ home vs. KC - KC has nothing to play for. They are locked into the #4 seed
Niners @ Rams - Rams don’t have much to play for. They are locked into the 3 or 4 seed. Rams actually have incentive to lose. 3 seed =divisional round matchup at Minny. 4 seed = divisional matchup against the #1 seed Eagles led by a backup QB in Foles.
Tampa @ home vs. Saints - ain’t gonna happen. Saints need this game to win the division.
Texans @ Indy - could drop Texans into a tie with us @ 5 wins. But I think they’re SOS might be to low to overcome.
If these games play out we could end up at 5. Possibly at 4 if Tampa pulls off a miracle. Most likely we’ll be at 6 or 7.

We'll not be rooting for any Patriots. Assholes just got another TD protection from replay. Thats like 4 this year. All 4 came from the same officiating crew. Weird, huh?

More than anything, we need the Colts to jump the Giants so we can trade up with the former.

Tankathon has us at 7 now. I guess the Monday games swung something in our favor. www.tankathon.com/nflI guess technically we'd be in a coin flip scenario with SF if the season ended today.

KC starting Mahomes in Denver. Gives Denver a chance and could help us.

Weird. I was looking at tankathon and noticed only 3 playoff teams have a SOS over .500, while 11 of the 15 teams with the worst records have a SOS over .500.
... I wonder if there is a correlation?

Prediction for 2018 draft Order top 10:
1. Cleveland 2. Indianapolis 3. NY Giants 4. Tampa Bay 5 Houston 6. NY Jets 7. Chicago 8. Denver 9. San Francisco 10. Cincinnati Indianapolis's new GM strikes gold. Or did he? Will Rosen's attitude and injuries cause teams to question whether he is worthy of a top pick? Without a consensus top 2 QB's the #2 pick suddenly becomes a lot less interesting. Would the Giants really believe adding a personality like Rosen's to their locker room is the right move? If Eli Apple is a cancer, what would Rosen be? I think Mr. Rosen is the #1 candidate to be the final man standing (well really sitting) in the green room.
With that in mind, if my draft Order becomes reality, there is a very real chance that every QB except Darnold will be available when the Jets pick. Then it would just be a matter of meshing talents and personality with Bowles, Morton, the Jets O system and the QB. Frankly, I believe either Mayfield or Jackson would work out great, but I am leaning more and more to Jackson because I am really starting to buy into the story line that his great running ability caused his coaches to rely more on his running than throwing, and there is less of a chance that he will make himself into a distraction. Even if Mayfield doesn't court the negative attention he gets, it certainly has a way of finding him.
Looking back, Jackson only had two subpar games throwing the ball this season and they weren't all that bad:
1) In a 47-21 loss to Clemson he was 21-42 for 317 yards, 3 TD, and 1 Int. And consider this, Clemson is ranked 8th in the nation in total D (13th in passing D) and in addition to his 42 pass attempts, Jackson ran the ball 17 times for 64 yards. That's 59 plays where he either threw a pass or ran. A huge workload no matter how young you are.
2) In a 45-42 loss to Boston College, he was 19-39 for 332 yards, 2 TD, 1 Int. While Boston Colleges D is nothing particularly special (as the 42 points given up in this game can attest), Jackson also ran the ball 22 times for 180 yards and 3 TDs. So he passed or ran on 51 plays. Once again, my God how much pressure can you put on one kid to carry the entire load. He had 208 rushes this season and the rest of the team had 248... ridiculous!
Jackson's overall passing stats -- I urge you to take a look at them -- stack up to both Rosen and Darnold's. With the only real difference being that Darnold did better than both Rosen and Jackson against ranked opponents, which I believe is due to the fact that Darnold was surrounded by much more talent than Jackson and Rosen.
So, what do you have in Lamar Alexander? A three year starter who won the Heisman in his second year as a starter and then put up better numbers this season. So, he's hungry and doesn't rest on his laurels. He did EVERYTHING that was asked of him. So, he is a coachable player. He carried the load and is used to being the "man" his team relies on to make plays. So, he has franchise QB characteristics.
If Alexander is there at 6 (and he may not be because Cleveland may realize what a generational talent this kid really is) the Jets need to draft him. He is Vick-like and Newton-like in his abilities and brings zero drama to the table. Seriously, he actually is a lot like Bowles, very low key and he does his job. The kid fits the Jets well.

My biggest concern with Mayfield is how overly emotional he is. One minute he’s grabbing his dick and talking shit to the opposing team on the sideline and then the very next day he’s breaking down in tears at a press conference apologizing over it. I don’t want some emotional cripple as my starting QB. The kid has some positive traits but he sure as hell isn’t even close to some sort of sure thing. I say either sign Cousins or do whatever it takes to walk away with Darnold/Rosen. Jackson wouldn’t be a bad fallback option...but I’m tired of fallback options. Go for broke.
