Bottom line, the Jets would be fucking idiots NOT to go after Cousins.
I don’t care if he’s never going to be Brady or Rodgers. Hell, odds are neither are Darnold/Rosen.
Cousins is still a fringe Top 10 QB in the league right in the prime of his career. A guy who routinely completes damn near 70% of his passes and is a legit 4300 yard, 30 TD/12 INT guy behind center...and we don’t want him with what could be as much as $90+ million to spend and a snowballs chance in hell at Darnold/Rosen?
Am I missing something? I’d honestly love to know what separates guys like Matt Ryan, Cam Newton and Matthew Stafford from a guy like Cousins. Those guys are routinely shown love but Cousins is routinely shit upon. Despite being arguably a better, more consistent QB than every last one of them.
We get a borderline Top 10 QB at 29 years old, still have plenty of money left over in FA to play with, and still possess a Top 8 pick and two 2nd rounders...
How is that some sort of doomsday scenario?
It could set us up for consistent contention for the next 5+ years if things break our way in the draft.

It could set us up for consistent contention for the next 5+ years if things break our way in the draft. its the most likely scenario, seeing has the Jets are FUCKING HORRENDOUS at identifying, drafting, developing, etc any kind of actual TALENT especially at QB position. Purely pathetic shit. But as it stands I couldn't give less a fuck while they hand hold Brady and the Cheaters and literally change the scores by hand to help them win where they would otherwise lose. It is no longer and cannot be called a game. It is a "football entertainment orchestration" and I am sick of fake shit and fuck everything about Boston on top of that. Racist fucking city full of cheaters and serial killers. Keep your strangler, you fucking cocksuckers! I hope you choke on his dick! They really picked the wrong team to rig for. I know countless fans of all teams who refuse to watch this shit anymore. For great reason. NOBODY likes those pussy bitches and everyone wants to see Brady injured off the game for good and Belicheat ridiculed as fraud. Far as I'm concerned the game is over, for good. Until all these scumbags are gone and Woody is sold the team.

Realistically, the Jets aren’t going to have a shot at Darnold or Rosen. Even if they offer up multiple 1st round picks, both the Browns and Giants would still tell them to go fuck themselves in all likelihood. And I’d sure as shit take a 29 year old, proven 4,000 yard, 30 TD QB over gambling on the likes of Mayfield, Jackson or Allen. The Jets, especially if they cut Wilkerson, are going to have the money to sign Cousins to a longterm deal and still have enough money left to sign a legit #1 CB like Malcolm Butler or Trumaine Johnson and re-sign some of the promising young guys like Ealy, Davis and ASJ. And then still be looking at a Top 10 pick in addition to two 2nd rounders. Not a bad position to be in at all. But no, they shouldn’t draft another QB in the Top 10 on top of signing Cousins. I’d rather we add someone like Barkley, Chubb or McGlinchley. We’d probably just need to get the Texans pick from Cleveland. We’re not getting Darnold or Rosen anyway like you said. But If we want to be sure we get Mayfield (or Jackson if they prefer), trading up a spot or two for Houston’s pick is much more realistic, and wouldn’t cost us more than one of our 2’s. The Bills say hello. 2 1's, 2 2's and 2 3's. They can and will jump us for which ever Qb they want.

If we are picking 7 or 8 and the Bills hold say the 17th and 25th picks, someone might be a lot more willing to trade back 3 or 4 slots than going all the way back to 17 or 18. I would be a lot more worried about Buffalo if they had a top 10 pick. We need the Chiefs to win a round or 2 in the playoffs to push that second Bills #1 down further.

If this is the case then I want the Rams and Eagles in the NFCC game. But even if the Niners, picking 5th?, Have their Qb might be willing to trade with the Bills. Think about how many places they could improve the team with 8 picks in the first three rounds. Might not be 100% value but it is good enough to restock and make a huge leap next year, talent wise.

You guys are crazy, no one is trading that high for Mayfield. Buffalo will probably stand pat in this scenario and draft Rudolph or Falk.

Say the Jets sign Cousins, still have the money to bring in a top CB like Malcolm Butler, a legit NT like Dontari Poe and re-sign guys like Davis and ASJ...
Then walk away from the first 2 rounds of the draft with Saquon Barkley, one of the top centers like Cole/Ragnow and the best available passrusher with the Seattle pick...
Who’s complaining about that?

Who’s complaining about that? Is Mac smart enough to pull that off? That sceario would be huge for the Jets and they certainly have the resources to do that.

That’s why I’ve been banging the drum to lose as many possible. Nobody at 1 or 2 or 3 wants to drop down to 10 or 12 or 14 if they can get good value only dropping a few slots to 4, 5 or 6. No way they’re dropping to 17 and 25. _

Not that it makes a huge difference at this point but I could see Belicheat resting or pulling the starters and the Jets winning their 6th game to drop them further in draft.

Not if the Steelers win today. As long as Pitt beats the Texans today, then the Pats will need the win next week to clinch home field in the AFC. Gotta root for the Steelers today.

So far Mac's performance is not very promising. With the draft picks and cap money they have available at this moment, a decent GM would make next season something to look forward to. But this guy leaves us with too many doubts. Plus, like I said earlier, he has the face and facial expression of a fucking idiot.

Someone better be coming and coming soon, the Jets haven't made the playoffs since 2010 which ended in a loss to the Steelers and we all know how that ended.

Dorsey really likes Mayfield and only needs an excuse to go in that direction.

I feel like Mayfield is going to fall. No one behind us is trading up for him so that really only leaves Denver as a likely suitor. And we may even end up ahead of Denver by this time next week. Eh. I don't think Mayfield will shoot up boards but I think he'll stick around the middle of the draft, 10-15 range. I think Denver either does a trade for Alex Smith or drafts Josh Allen.
