Dorsey really likes Mayfield and only needs an excuse to go in that direction. Could be a smoke screen. The Browns may be scared off from mayfield because the Manzeil debacle. Hope that’s the case and jets can get him.

This was the fantasy I was imagining the other day. Something similar to what the Giants and Chargers did in 2004. Browns pick Rosen, Jets pick Mayfield at 6, teams swap QBs and Jets send a bunch of picks to the Browns as well.

Cousins is the safest way to go. Rosen has 2 concussions no way are you trading up for a guy that is 1 hit away from being done. The Jets right now are a QB away from being a good team. Yes they still have some holes but if they had a QB like cousins they easily 10 and 6 make a wild card spot. Why Cousins be a smart move is no way can the Redskins sign him to a 34million for 1 yr he is walking the Jets can grab him for 5 yrs 100 million. That frees up draft to use picks for OL and a couple of weapons. He requires no development no growing pains that a rookie QB goes through.

I maintain I'd be happy with both Cousins and Mayfeild/Jackson. I don't think we have the assets to make a blockbuster trade up as there are a couple of teams (Bills) who will be better equipped to do such.
Browns, Giants, and either Bills or Broncos will wind up with the top 3 QBs of this draft. It really depends on if teams prefer to trade with the Jets to move down a couple spots or with the Bills and get 2 first round picks, albeit later ones

Easy peasy on paper, but there's 4 teams between us and that first pick and a lot interest in the position. BUF to name the obvious candidate. I'm firm on this; trade up as high as we can. Fuck the costs, doesn't matter. Get up as high as we can, and then evaluate our options.

I think Cousins may be a smart play - but it bugs me: why isn't WAS signing him to a long-term deal if he's that good? It's not like they are or were a tear-down team. They should be competing.

He can withstand the pounding, moves efficiently in the pocket and makes NFL throws consistently. Don’t care about the turnovers. _

They are a shitty cheap organization. They low balled Cousins on the guaranteed money every time they made an offer to him and he kept taking the one year franchise tag. The funny thing is they have paid him way more then what they tried to guarantee him in the first year and he would have taken a lower number initially. The other thing is their GM is a giant asshole and constantly refers to him as Kurt. I don't think Cousins wants to play there and can't wait to get out. That organization kissed RG3s ass and he wasn't that good. Cousins bided his time, has played the good soldier and they've treated him kinda shitty. Can't blame the guy, Schneider is one of the worst owners in the league.

This is why I think more and more every day that the Jest are at least PLANNING on trying for Cousin as plan A. Because this org CANNOT develop shit. Clearly they cant even develop a QB as good as Fitzfuckstick and McClown I fully think it will be cousins. And I think we will overpay. and then they wont do SHIT for the O-line We are gonna draft D-line and CB all day fuckin long. No pass rusher. Why would you ever want a pass rusher?!

Ya know... here's another fucking thing! These cocksuckers have like 10 1st round picks on D Line.... So they obviously think the line is important... But not the O line... WTF.

Definitely making a hard run at Cousins with the news of this extension. They already whiffed twice in the draft, can't afford another chance there or wait 2-3 years the pick to develop.
What sucks is that if Cousins bombs, Mac & Bowles are out of here and the next regime will be stuck with him for a few years. That may scare off any potential HC/GM suitors in 2019. Critical offseason coming up.

If we sign Cousins I would love to try and grab Barkley at our pick. This dude would transform our offense. Fix the OL through free agency and we're ready to roll.
