What makes you say that? You know much about them? I know enough to know that the average citizen doesn't need an assault rifle to defend his home and loved ones. Sorry, but you just don't know much about this subject. Which is only natural seeing where you guys all live and have lived your whole lives.

Didn’t one of these kids snatch the gun from their parents safe? You might be referring to the Sandy Hook shootings? The kid was profoundly mentally disturbed (institutionalized once upon a time, but now "mainstreamed")..and his mother kept guns in the house. Two issues colliding head-on, imho. Def. worthy of discussion. Precisely why I mentioned it.

Yikes. Taking advantage of grieving mothers. There is no bottom.

Why didn't Obama do anything after Sandy Hook?

Why didn't Obama do anything after Sandy Hook? He "cried". Then moved on and played golf. Obama's racist pandering emboldened the NRA the same way Hilary Clintons evil candicacy emboldened the deplorables who voted for Trump. The NRA is still in hyper-drive when they need to dial it back and recognize there is plenty that can be done without infringing upon the rights of most gun owners. No way an 18 year old with this history should have been able to legally buy an AR15..or any firearm for that matter.

Why didn't Obama do anything after Sandy Hook? Or even better, from 2009-2011 when they had complete control. Same goes for immigration. They raise money off the two. They want to keep the issues alive as long as possible. Any gun laws that aren't couple with changes to laws pertaining to how we deal with the crazier and and how we monitor social media will be meaningless. Just a "we did something", please send your checks.

You know once the dyke springs a leak it doesn't stop. The goal isn't to get rid of ARs.

I dont have the answer, but how did this kid, with his history...legally buy a gun? I have no problem with the process being more difficult, more checks and waiting periods. I think the NRA can be strong...while recognizing this as well. How? Who the fuck knows.

I think if there was a bill proposed that just dealt with this single issue it would get tremendous support. Deny nutcases the ability to purchase a firearm. The problem is everything else they try to sneak in along with it. Registries, ambiguous descriptions of banned weapons, ammo bans, increased waiting periods, etc. Keep it simple, keep it honest. But this is Washington we are talking about.
