I don't think Macc is done. He'll call the Browns for the top spot. You may be right. By keeping next year's 1 out of the deal, this is still an option. Personally, I would rather just stay at 3 at this point, but if Macc feel strongly enough about 1 of the QBs ahead of the others, it could still happen.

What will it cost to move upto 1 Draft nerds? Any discussion would have to start with next year's one. Plus probably an exchange of some later round picks.

If they did that to move up to get Darnold I would become an Eagles fan. What would be the point?

So Jets sign McCown and tell him hes #1 going into the season....then immediately after trade up to pick 3rd. Wonder if he thinks he's still starting. Lol. Eagles essentially did the same thing a few years ago. Signed Chase Daniels, traded for Sam Bradford then still traded up for Carson Wentz in the same offseason. Think they named Bradford starter when they got him as well.

Also, it's beautiful to see we maintained such cap flexibility. All these 1 year deals we signed guys to this year, plus the expiring dudes & now we save $$ on signing our 2nd rd draft picks. Plus we still have over $35M in cap space now. Lovely.

I assume we called Browns, found out that they wanted to keep their pick and probably got a hint of who they are choosing between (Darnold & Barkley I would guess) then we called the Giants and got word on who they were deciding between. Maybe the guy we want has an over 90% chance of being there. I don't think the Jets want Darnold & they did their focus all on Rosen or Mayfield this past week for that reason(1 of which, if not both will be there).

Let's just all pray that this is not for Josh Allen.

Can the Jets finally make the right move and have a franchise QB? I am going to bed now as I am going to try to sleep until the draft because the next month and a half will be excruciating with anticipation.

Well, I am pumped now! MacCagnan finally showing some balls to go get the QB. Now he just has to make the right choice lol.
I have to say though, it was amazing to see how many idiots on Twitter were slamming the Jets for this trade, making the typical stupid Jets jokes, saying how the Colts hosed us, etc... I think it's pretty obvious the Colts had a trade on the table with Buffalo and Mike was like hold my beer bruh, we got work to do. I would rather not have given up the 2 next year if we had to include both this year, but fuck it, that's the cost of doing business. Securing a franchise QB was by far the most important thing for the offseason. Bravo Mike.

Let's just all pray that this is not for Josh Allen. I’m fine with that I’m not going to sit here and pretend like I’ve broken down dozens of hours of “tape” on Allen and am convinced that he sucks. Everyone wants to keep bringing up Hackenberg, but Hack was totally gunshy by the time the Jets reached on him in the 2nd round. Allen is widely regarded as a legit Top 5 pick for a reason. His kind of arm strength and athleticism for a dude who’s 6’5 240 can’t be taught. If you hit on him, you could have the next Big Ben on your hands for the next 12-15 years. Even if he hits his ceiling, I don’t think he’ll ever be a 65% completion guy, but I think he could be a bigtime player regardless.

Outside of Mel Kiper, I don't see how Allen is widely regarded as a top 5 pick. Sure, he CAN be a Big Ben but Rosen & Mayfield are way more polished now & Rosen CAN be good as Matt Ryan or great as Peyton Manning & Mayfield CAN be good as Russell Wilson or great as Drew Brees. Even Big Ben wasn't a top 10 pick. Josh Allen is too much of a combine warrior for me. The tape shows too many flaws and too much of waiting time. That's where you can compare Hackenberg. I think he falls actually and ends up with Bills or Cardinals.
