I’m fine with that I’m not going to sit here and pretend like I’ve broken down dozens of hours of “tape” on Allen and am convinced that he sucks. Everyone wants to keep bringing up Hackenberg, but Hack was totally gunshy by the time the Jets reached on him in the 2nd round. Allen is widely regarded as a legit Top 5 pick for a reason. His kind of arm strength and athleticism for a dude who’s 6’5 240 can’t be taught. If you hit on him, you could have the next Big Ben on your hands for the next 12-15 years. Even if he hits his ceiling, I don’t think he’ll ever be a 65% completion guy, but I think he could be a bigtime player regardless. Outside of Mel Kiper, I don't see how Allen is widely regarded as a top 5 pick. Sure, he CAN be a Big Ben but Rosen & Mayfield are way more polished now & Rosen CAN be good as Matt Ryan or great as Peyton Manning & Mayfield CAN be good as Russell Wilson or great as Drew Brees. Even Big Ben wasn't a top 10 pick. Josh Allen is too much of a combine warrior for me. The tape shows too many flaws and too much of waiting time. That's where you can compare Hackenberg. I think he falls actually and ends up with Bills or Cardinals. If any QB is going to fall, I’d put my money on Mayfield all day. I know people are head over heels for the kids “fire” and “competitive spirit” and all that jazz, but at the end of the day, the dude is 6’0 215 with maturity concerns and comes from gimmicky offenses at both Oklahoma and Texas Tech. I don’t think you trade multiple picks and hitch your wagon to that.

His height doesn't matter because he slings it with an upward elbow. I think you can coach up Mayfield's flaws much easier than you can coach up Josh Allen's flaws. Paxton Lynch had a big arm too. Mayfield is the most accurate QB in this class.

You've got to be a little nervous about the jets not being able to move up to 2 instead 3. I can understand the browns not wanting to move because they desperately need a QB as much as we do, but the giants either really love Barkley or they're taking Rosen at 2. Got to hope they value Barkley that high.

So Jets sign McCown and tell him hes #1 going into the season....then immediately after trade up to pick 3rd. Wonder if he thinks he's still starting. Lol. Bowles is the HC. He will start.

Mayfield is the most accurate QB in this class. Maybe he is that accurate, but he also plays in a spread offense in a conference that plays zero defense. Those completion % numbers are not going to translate to the NFL. Completely different game. I also really don't want Mayfield.

I love how this move forces the Browns to not take Barkley #1 & hope their QB is still their at 4.

Giants also said to love Quintin Nelson as a fallback. Truly don't think new Giants regime wants a QB round 1 this year. I can see them getting a QB in round 2 or 3.

That would be ideal for us. Just have to hope the Giants love Barkley as much as everyone thinks they do. At this point, it's Darnold, Rosen, or bust.

Got to hope they value Barkley that high. Gettleman is absolutely a believer in the run game, espy in regards to helping out the passing game. That was his MO in Carolina. The other FA moves he has made so far also point to a belief that the NYG can be primed for one more run with Eli. It's hard to imagine him taking a QB. If the Browns do the unthinkable and take Barkley first, I'd worry - but the Jets getting into #3 has put pressure on the Browns to almost certainly take a QB first. Odds are its Darnold and then Barkely IMHO - then us! Finally.....
