Read that will so many contracts expiring at the end of this season, the Jets are projected to have about $100M to spend in 2019. If Macc plays this right, we could rebuild... not sure that’s actually a correct term for the Jets... but we could build a team quickly with some solid pieces already in place and a good draft next year and some good free agents. As long as Darnold shows enough this season to make offensive players want to come here, we could be in a really good position for 2019. Only Jet fans can happily chirp about our prospects for 2019 when we havent played a down in 2018! F Flanders

I'm one of the biggest SOJF posters on here and a bonafide Mac/Bowles hater and I like our draft. It sucks we didn't draft any Olineman but at the very least there wasn't a WTF pick like Dylan Donahue. We got maybe the best QB in the draft, some interior DL help which we needed(although you could argue he overdid it), a nickel corner, and finally a fucking guy that can return punts. Im not big on these guys for 1 reason the defense is still good the way it is. The OL is terrible You have Orlando Brown a starting LT still on the board a guy that has the potential to sure up LT situation for years and pass on him for a poor mans Wilkerson who is 25 years old. Then you pass on Crosby who is a starting RT could be converted to a guard spot both guys were late first to mid second round picks. Eh, Im not as sold on Brown being a stud as some are I guess. Had not his dad's old team grabbed him where they did, how far might he have fallen?

I have been over at JN for the last few months, but after this draft weekend, I couldn't take the whining any more. This is home. I will stick around.

Sam Darnold a brillant pick then Mac threw the remaining picks on projects with orlando Brown, Tyrell Crosby still sitting Jets could have rebuilt half the offensive line not to mention Gallup a beast of a WR instead 4 projects. You draft a QB that will get killed behind that make shift line blown opportunity again. And not to pile on Brown more, but you do realize that the offense that Jeremy Bates and Rick Dennison plan to implement is heavily predicated on zone blocking, and one scouting report said of Brown: And in all fairness, Crosby probably would have been a better fit coming out of Oregon. He WAS one guy I was wondering why they passed on later on.

I was hoping they would take Crosby -- went a couple of picks before our 5th. And right after he went is when we traded back with Minnesota -- probably just coincidence, but it makes me wonder if we were targeting him. If so, it just makes that Rashard Robinson trade from last year look that much worse. We could have grabbed Crosby with our original 5th that we traded to SF for him.

Don’t we still have a shitload of cap room to sign free agents? We have $25MM in offseason cap space, where only the top 51 biggest cap hits count. Deduct about $8MM to sign the draft class, and we are sitting at $17MM. Still room to make some moves, and more than most teams at this stage, but nowhere near teams like Cleveland and the Colts who are both over $60 mil. It is next season that we are projoected to have a shitload of cap space again. Hopefully to invest in the OL.So until then our QB has to dodge, duck and dive?

After seeing his oline play last year he has the perfect footwork for this.
