Ah, my favorite thread of the year. BTW, who is the green kool aid drinker that said the Jets will go 9-7? That would be me. Agreed, I was slightly optimistic but there were a lot of close losses during the 2017-18 season, so I took a flyer on the over. I don't think the progress of the team or lack thereof will be evident until game 4 or 5. How's the whole PED thing going in NE? Is it a 4 or 6 game suspension?

I'll go first.... As I've said many times now, there's nothing that Mac did IMO that made this team better in 2018. No one among the draft picks can I see helping the Jets win games. He improved in the secondary IMO, but got infinitely worse on DL. This defense was ranked 25th last year when our HC is supposed to be a defensive genius. Clear evidence the GM and HC are incompetent. This is to say nothing about the offense that is still far worse than the 25th ranked defense. So 5-11 is my guess? I have an idea Mac does not know how to build a team any better than 5-11. I know NFL network has been showing the top 100 players of 2018. Do the Jets have a single player on that list? Probably not (or maybe 1 - Leo). What a pathetic indictment of Macc's horrible reign as the worst GM in the NFL. The guy interviews and looks like a fucking idiot. So what can we expect from him. And I'm concerned about the idiot picking Darnold. It would have been better for the idiot to have stayed with the 6th pick and not have to make a selection, but to have been forced to take the LEFT-OVER QB. Listen to the guy's interviews ... look at the guy's face ... a fucking idiot.

You guys shut the fuck up. Stop ruining my thread. I want to hear from fans what they think the Jets will be this year and why they think it will turn out that way.

General consensus right now says most in this thread are optimistic the Jets are clearly on the rise. The most votes says 8-8. That's a 3 game improvement. That's huge if it's correct? I can't possibly understand all of the delusion, but so long as when they go 5-11 those fans are not suicidal then i suppose it's fine.

General consensus right now says most in this thread are optimistic the Jets are clearly on the rise. Of course they are optimistic; it’s June. The best time of the year for Jets fans is June, July and August. And then, unfortunately for Jets fans, the real games begin in September.

Even you have to see why this is a particular time of optimism for most Jets fans. Darnold is genuinely the best QB prospect the Jets have had since Namath. I was 8 when the Jets drafted Todd, but I’m pretty sure he wasn’t as highly regarded as Darnold. I know that O’Brien, Pennington and Sanchez sure as hell weren’t. And he’s coming at a time when Brady is 41 years old and will be walking away within two seasons, Belidick possibly in tow. Sure, there’s the off-chance that Darnold could bust, but virtually every scout and current/former personnel guy out there believes that his floor is at least a competent, solid starting QB for a number of years. Best case scenario, he’s one of the Top 5 or 6 QB’s in the league for the next decade plus. Either way, Darnold provides for a helluva lot more optimism than the useless dickbags we’ve been trotting out behind center for the better part of the last 4 decades.

Rainbow Tom is even talking about how the end is near. I've said it before, when he reaches the end of the line, his decline will come swiftly and catch many shameless homers in Cheatboro off guard. They may be so stunned some could even turn on him after all he's done for the franchise. Also, your exactly right, Belicheat will jump ship shortly after Rainbow Tom. He may of been inclined to stick around but old man Kraft made him get rid of Jimmy G. It's coming to an end in Cheatboro very soon and the fans won't take it well.

A lot will be dependent on who starts at QB and when. We shall see. But, on the plus side, for the first time in like 7 years there's actually something to be excited and interested about in this team. The snooze fest of the past is over and it will be intriguing no matter what. I'll actually want to watch the games this year. That's a win already.
