When it comes to talking football, there are few people more respected around the NFL than Charley Casserly.
Recently, appearing on NFL network, Casserly mentioned the Jets as one of the most improved teams in all of football heading into 2018. Along with the Jets, Casserly mentioned the 49ers, Ravens, Packers and Buccaneers.
First and foremost, Casserly approved of the Jetsβ decision to draft former USC star Sam Darnold, The hope is heβs their quarterback for the next decade. Casserly also noted running back Isaiah Crowell, cornerback Trumaine Johnson, linebacker Avery Williamson and wide receiver Terrelle Pryor as key additions that will play a big role for the Jets in 2018.
While all of the moves are important, it is clear that the biggest of the offseason was landing Darnold. If Darnold turns out to be a bust, the Jets are in trouble for years to come. But if he turns out to be the quarterback everyone around football thinks he can be, the Jets will have finally found their franchise signal caller for the first time in decades.
Looking at the other additions, Johnson was the Jetsβ biggest signing in free agency. The lockdown cornerback comes over from the Rams and will be the New Yorkβs No. 1 cornerback with veteran Morris Claiborne on the opposite side as a reliable No. 2. Johnson is arguably the most talented player on the entire roster and should thrive in Todd Bowlesβ defense moving forward.
It is easy to see why Casserly thinks the Jets are an improved team, as they certainly upgraded on paper. Now they just have to go out and prove it on the field.

You don't think the roster has improved? MAYBE, possibly better in the way of a single CB?? Avery Williamson is not an improvement over Demario Davis. If anything that's a push. Meanwhile the DL got substantially worse than in 2017. The front 7 will struggle mightily to stop the run. On offense the OL is garbage. The running game will be consistently shut down due to lack of talent on the OL. Josh McCown will probably start, but he will not be anywhere near as good as he was last year. Worst part? Not a single player Mac drafted will help the team win games in 2018. ALL of Mac's picks will take multiple years to develop. I figure they'll be 5-11 again.

You don't think they'll start or trade Teddy? I don't expect much but from McCown besides being a Mentor for Sammy. We have some nice pick ups during the off season. I don't see how you guys just automatically go to 5-11.

Wasnt Casserly a consultant of sorts who led us to Mac?
I forgot we signed Johnson. Holy hell. We have a rookie QB too.

Casserly was instrumental in bringing Mac and Bowles here so the bias is undeniable. I think the toupee predicted the same thing last year to cover up all of Macs shitty draft picks.

That stupid mark ripen loving lucky fuckhead gave the Jets Macc. Heβs like maccagansβ demented slow brain. Fuck charley casserole. He loves Macc cause they are both of the Irish decent. Stupid inbred drunkinβ Democratic voting mi.ck$. May they both rot in Irish hell (Irish hell is an AA meeting where there is no alcoholic beverages, just oβdouls and coffee). And that moron loves coffee!
