Some picks have been shocking but if Darnold turns out to be a 15 year franchise QB and the best since Namath then this man is stuff of legends. ^ EXACTLY Free dinner and drinks for life if we win SB!!

Cousins left 6 Mill guaranteed on the table because he took the 84 from the Vikings. Was the deal overshot FUCK YES he isn't worth 90. Agreed he isnt worth it, but when you stink, and youre looking at the 6th pick and probably the top QBs gone, which was the case, you sometimes have to overpay by a little. 2M a year is pocket change at that point.

Macc got killed for trading up to 3 but who is laughing now? IF Darnold is legit then he deserves the freedom of NY, without the balls to trade up Darnold is never a Jet. He doesn’t get enough credit for trading up getting a franchise QB and still holding onto our 1st next year. I liked the trade up to 3, but HATED the idea of cousins. He was not going to do anything for the Jets except solidify their position as the most boring, bottom feeding team in the league. We all know his ceiling and the team isn't built to contend for the SB this year so what was the point of cousins? I'm glad it worked out the way it did although I wish Macc was better at drafting over the past 4 years to be able to have Darnold surrounded with something resembling talent at the offensive skill positions. I guess it's better to be lucky then good in this case. Like Untouchable said, Cousins is a top 15 QB. We weren't contending with or without him this year, but put pieces around him, and we're a playoff team in a year or two. Im happy the way it worked out, but don't blame him for going for the best available option at the time.

I was one of the ones that absolutely did not want Cousins but many here bashed me and others that felt the same way. Many so called experts wanted the Jets to get Cousins.

Mack sucks. He had to trade up to get a qb or else he’s fired.
Make no mistake. He wanted cousins. Badly.
Glad cousins passed on us but don’t give mac credit.

He doesn’t get enough credit for trading up getting a franchise QB and still holding onto our 1st next year. Now with the Bridgwater trade the QB offseason search could not have gone any better 1 - Make a push for Cousins 2 - Sign Mccown a selfless Vet who would be comfortable either starting or mentoring a rookie 3 - Kick the tires on Bridgewater 4 - AFter Cousins signs with Vikes, move up to be in a position to get a better QB prospect 5 - Darnold falls to us and shows he's ready 6 - Bridgewater hits the gates running and shows he's a potential starter 7 - Trade Bridgwater Boner

He had to trade up to get a qb or else he’s fired. Make no mistake. He wanted cousins. Badly. On this I agree. Macc had two options to keep his job. Sign a FA QB (option A), and he went after the best available one, arguably one who is in the top half of starters, or draft one (option B). Many people think Cousins is more talented than some of you are giving him credit for. Originally drafting at 6, option B didn't look like a great option, and he went hard for option A. When option A didn't work out, he traded up to make option B a way better possible option. For that, I give him credit. He worked the available options, and with some luck as well, and thank you Browns and Giants, turned a meh situation into a bright future, at least at the QB spot.

He went for cousins, who is above average st best. When he busted out (only because cousins spurned us like a hooker with an std), he would have given ANYTHING to move up in the draft. Or else he would have been fired. And he got lucky because Darnold fell to 3. You could have done the same thing. Not really anything smart about what he did.

bridgewater helped us twice
the first time was when he blew out his knee
ifn he hadn't, we would've ended up with cousins and a ridiculous 90mil guaranteed contract
second time was when he signed on the cheap, then boosted his trade value by nutting up in the preseason
