Odd, the article never references dementia and the petition seems fugazy.. Anyhoo the below pretty much sums it up. "If there’s an effort to improve benefits for retired players, shouldn’t it start with the players who need the most help? So while the Hall of Famers may have a point about the NFL paying Goodell a fortune while retired players struggle, these particular players look like the wrong messengers.". Totally forgot about Taylor crossing the picket line, pretty dooshy that he signed this petition now that he's retired.

Odd, the article never references dementia Think of it as an homage to your descriptive artistry in the teachers fucking students thread. Obviously my effort wasn't worthy as you didn't recognize it. I will go commit Seppuku now.

Yeah, wouldn't helping the guys who need it most, be doing that for the journeymen linemen and running backs and the like that played 5-10 years, but didn't make the big bucks? The HOFers made coin, not our fault they maybe blew it and cant afford health benefits and such. They come off pretty haughty asking for just these bennies for HOFers.

Kurt Warner just released a statement distancing himself from the whole thing. Sounds like it was fugazy after all, though, if it starts a discussion about compensating JAG retirees and makes Goodell's life a pain in the ass, I'm all for it. That fat fuck.

Very sad.
Has Joe ever been asked if he could go back in time what would he do? Football has given him a great life. Football has changed the trajectory of lives for men and their families.

It really is a deal with the devil. Yes, you can make a shitload of money and be famous and adored. But what good is that if you'll be in constant pain...and at some point you are almost guaranteed to get crippling dementia? You maybe made a ton of money (if you save it) for your family but they will be burdened with your slow hellish descent. The trajectory at the end isnt pretty. Still....they almost all say it was worth it.
