I don’t care if he’s in his mid-60’s. So are guys like Belidick and Pete Carroll.
HOF caliber, Super Bowl winning coach who is considered one of the greatest offensive minds in the history of the sport and got a raw deal in Washington. He would also allow us to keep continuity with guys like Bates and Dennison if he chooses.
Even if he only gives us 3-4 years, that’s fine with me as long as he develops Darnold into a Top 10 QB during that period. And odds are he probably would.
Even if he doesn’t want to be a HC, bring him in as the VP/GM and let him hire someone like Matt LaFleur as the coach.
Bowles and Macc can suck my asshole. Why that Bubba Gump fuckhead didn’t challenge that would-be safety or the Anderson catch downfield is beyond me. He’s good at crossing his arms with a stink face on his mug like a 16 year old girl and that’s about it.
And Macc has had 4 years to build up this offense and it’s barely any more talented than when Idzik was in charge.
Time to clean house and bring in a proven commodity for the first time in 20+ years.

I don't know about Shananhan specifically but prob wouldnt hate it.
What is evident is that we need a proven offensive coach running the show. No more of these first time head coach D coordinators. Has that ever worked??
The name of the game is offense and you are just wasting time with first time D background guys.

Why that Bubba Gump fuckhead didn’t challenge that would-be safety Fyi, I was on the road during the game, Ian said it wasnt a challenge-able call. Shanahan is an interesting idea though.

He’s also one of the most connected guys in the game and still knows how to put together an offensive coaching staff.
Nevermind the glory days in Denver, just look at the guys he brought in in Washington.
Kyle Shanahan, Sean McVay, Matt LaFleur...
Seriously, who the hell wouldn’t feel extremely comfortable with this dude overseeing Darnold’s development?

Listen... you know the Jets are going to end up winning about 6 of 7 games and they are going to keep Bowles.
Learn to embrace the suck.

Aren’t belidick and Pete carrol ‘defensive’ coaches? But they didnt have success as first time head coaches. Thats what we need to get away from. First time head coaches that were D coordinators suck balls there first go round. You win in this league with either up and coming offensive minds, or proven offensive minds. Defense just doesn't impact the game like offense does and it takes these D coordinators years to learn what they need to match up on the offensive side of the ball. That explains how Bellichek and Carrol got better on their second and third tries.

I'd go with Mike Holmgren myself. If not Holmgren then maybe Bill Walsh.
