Bye bye Whitey! Rest in hell!!!
James "Whitey" Bulger, the notorious and much-feared former Boston mob boss, was killed Tuesday morning at the United States Penitentiary Hazelton in Bruceton Mills, West Virginia, multiple officials told CNN.
Bulger, 89, who had eluded federal authorities for more than 16 years before his arrest in June 2011, was serving the rest of his life in prison for a litany of crimes, including his role in 11 murders. He was sentenced in November 2013 to two life terms plus five years for his role as architect of a criminal enterprise that, in the words of a federal judge, committed "unfathomable" acts that terrorized a city. This mugshot shows James "Whitey" Bulger in March 1953. This mugshot shows James "Whitey" Bulger in March 1953. A federal jury had convicted Bulger that year of 31 counts, including racketeering, extortion, money laundering, drug dealing and weapons possession. The jury found him culpable in 11 killings from 1973 through 1985. His death marks a final chapter in the life of one of the country's most infamous criminals and fugitives. A man who lived by violence, vengeance and intimidation, Bulger would not make eye contact at his sentencing with the relatives of the people he'd killed, nor those who were slain by his accomplices in the treacherous Winter Hill Gang. As they called him a coward, a rat, a punk and Satan, Bulger kept his head down and show no emotion as he scribbled on a pad. The statements of victims chronicled some of the darkest years of Boston history. "The testimony of human suffering that you and your associates inflicted on others was at times agonizing to hear and painful to watch," US District Court Judge Denise Casper said at the hearing. "At times, I wish we were watching a movie, that what we were hearing was not real. But as the families of victims know all too well, it's not a movie." In 2016, auctioned items seized from Bulger's Santa Monica, California, apartment raised almost $110,000 to compensate victims' families. Bulger was born September 3, 1929, in Dorchester, Massachusetts.

I was thinking the exact same thing, but journalism as an art seems to be long dead. Interestingly, I am in the middle of reading a book about Whitey and his ex-politician brother (The Brothers Bulger). I knew Whitey was a stone cold psycho, but he was also a male prostitute before his serious criminality began and dabbled in the ghey through the years. Also astonishing to me was the level of corruption in Boston in those days from Whiteys Politician brother, to the FBI, to the cawps....Unfuckin real. It also goes into the libtard fueled busing debacle that occurred there in the 70's, I still remember how bitter my cousins were and they actually fled back to Ireland they were so appalled.

"The 89-year-old Bulger had recently been moved from a prison in Florida to a transfer facility in Oklahoma City. Bureau of Prisons officials and his attorney declined last week to comment on why he was being moved." Gee...I have an idea why.

Can you enlighten us on the "idea why". Curious as to your take.

It can't be a coincidence that "someone" got to Whitey mere hours after his transfer. So who had the power to make that move? What surprises me is how long it took. Most of the players are dead or in the can themselves. I dont think he had much left to squeal about. Seems like a simple case of long awaited revenge. Someone didn't like the idea of Whitey still walking the earth. Hey, John Connelly gets out in 2039. Maybe he has a book in him. Did you read Black Mass?

Did not read Black Mass yet, though to be honest, I'm 3/4's the way through Brothers Bulger and it is so distasteful and dark, I dont know if I have another book in me regarding the same subject. Whitey got through his Boston days as a rat, so I wouldnt be surprised if he survived on the inside like that as well...and it caught up to him. Hard to believe Billy still lives in Southie though. Guess nothing should surprise me about that whole thing.

www.yahoo.com/news/official-mafia-hit-man-suspect-death-whitey-bulger-172237705.htmlWell, I was right, being a rat finally caught up to him...though I have to wonder...iffin you know Whitey's history...you know he protected himself with the FBI by ratting out the Italian mob in Boston...and then you move him to a prison where a psycho hitman for the Italian mob in Mass., who also has a well-known hatred for rats...is serving a life sentence and has nothing to lose. Seems dumb.
