Yeah, apologize, my wording on the joke was a little clunky. I've lost my fastball. It can't be a coincidence that "someone" got to Whitey mere hours after his transfer. So who had the power to make that move? What surprises me is how long it took. Most of the players are dead or in the can themselves. I dont think he had much left to squeal about. Seems like a simple case of long awaited revenge. Someone didn't like the idea of Whitey still walking the earth. Hey, John Connelly gets out in 2039. Maybe he has a book in him. Did you read Black Mass?Good read. Their whole history, the Bulgers, reads like a fictional crime novel. Wasnt The Departed loosely based on Bulger and Connolly? Yes....I have a good friend who plays one of the Detectives in that flick. Tall guy who helps separate the fighting Lawmen at a meeting.

Well, I was right, being a rat finally caught up to him...though I have to wonder...iffin you know Whitey's history...you know he protected himself with the FBI by ratting out the Italian mob in Boston...and then you move him to a prison where a psycho hitman for the Italian mob in Mass., who also has a well-known hatred for rats...is serving a life sentence and has nothing to lose. Seems dumb. He was 89 and in a wheel chair. My guess is The prison guards got tired of taking care of him. Had him “euthanized”.

I actually knew his kid and he was my baseball coach one year. I didn’t know the story at the time. That had to be tough for him. Why? Because Cross was a shitty ball player? Or because he kept giving his team mates awesome photoshops of Coach Ratface?
