This years crop of Hardy Mums are doing well, having weathered near-freezing and now above average temps. Not quite worth the hundreds of dollars for a two month show, but the wife requires it. Also, the midget pumpkins to decorate the porch have so far not been ravaged by the local asshole squirrels, so that's a plus as well. Mum Report, out.

Nothing about the raccoons? WLF? To be honest, the Racoons have been quiet. They still rip up the lawn looking for worms, but they have steered clear of my deck where I keep the garbage cans ever since I yanked open the slider and threw an empty 5 gallon spackle bucket at an entire family about to ravage one of my cans. I think that incident, plus the sudden disappearance of one, two, maybe 3 of their family members may have created a familial bad memory that now makes them steer clear of my house for several generations now, so I have that going for me...which is nice. Nice pic, dick.

I get fuckin squirrels tearing up the lawn. Shitbags. And like 10 years ago, not one goddamn squirrel in the neighborhood. Now practically everywhere.

My old man complained about deer eating his rose bushes at their house on the north fork of LI. Bought him a paintball gun and the yellow splattered deer haven't been around in 2+ years.

My buddy had a raccoon that kept getting into his garbage. So on night he was ready. The garbage can was just below his second floor bathroom window. He took the lid off one can & waited. When the fucker went into the can, he dropped a big log straight down into the can. A direct hit. He went down, put the lid on the can and had the garbage men take the raccoon & log away.

A few years ago, in like February. There was snow, then ice, then snow, then ice, etc. my back yard was layers of ice on snow. Back yard slopes up from the driveway. One day I drive up the driveway and park the car. Get out, and there’s squirrels chasing each other in the trees just over the slope up. out of the corner of my eye I see this grey thing fall from a tree. Makes a WHOMP when it hit the snow/ice. I think ‘we’ll that fuckers dead’. Trudge up to see the corpse. Nothing there but a divot in the ice.
In the spring, I go to throw out the garbage, and there’s a squirrel in a tree right by the garbage can with a busted up front paw. Had it tucked up like an old lady carrying a purse. Never saw the fucker again. Ptolly tough scrounging out an existence in the wild with only one good arm.

Years ago, I was working at a golf course in Westchester. There were two squirrels way in in an oak tree. I was watching them because it looked like there were planning a daring jump from one oak to another. They were way up and the branches were very thin and it was a long distance.
All of the sudden me of the squirrels takes off and leaps. He fought a branch on the other side and it bent way down but did not break. He made his way into the tree.
Then the other squirrel made the same jump. He grabbed the branch, it bowed and ... snap.... dud fell like 50 feet onto asphalt. I was hoping he would make it. Instead I had to get a guy to go pick him up and dispose of him.
