I think we're talking about pick number 1 or 2 ... and if so, we can count on the fucking idiot Maccagnan making a fucking idiot pick.

Lets kill two birds with one stone. Make Shanahan the GM/HC I could get behind this as long as he picks an OC who is a young heir apparent.

There is a former Jets coach who is actually making a difference on a winner ... Mike Westhoff is doing pretty well these days. How is this possible? I always thought, "once a Jet, always a Jet ..."

GRUDEN! (after he gets run out of Oakland) I would go full Gruden if there was any chance of getting Sean Payton in the building.

Not and original thought from me but I agree with the poster, I forget who it was that the next HC needs to come from a proven winner like the Chiefs, Steelers etc. That being said, I'm open to a proven winner like Shanahan but am wary of his age. The other retread head coaches can hit the road. If the Ravens were foolish to get rid of John Harbaugh, back up the money truck, he's be my pick.

Also, I think the Rooney rule as a whole is a very good thing for the NFL. Further, the Jets have been one of the teams who have implemented the rule, not just giving it lip service with the hiring's of Herm and now Bowles. The color of a man's skin has nothing to do with being a good NFL coach. Personally, I don't care if the Jets next HC is purple, as long as he wins. Just get a winner, who can motivate, make adjustments and adapt.
