So we’re trusting 2 guys who’ve never hired a HC to get it right.
We’re screwed.

So we’re trusting 2 guys who’ve never hired a HC to get it right. We’re screwed. See Dukie, I expect the Jets to fuck it up in any situation. This way I cannot be anything but surprised or disappointed by anything they do. After 50 years nothing but owners, players and coaches have changed. The loser mentality and culture remain strong as a one bathroom flat after three days of a family gorging oneself.

So we’re trusting 2 guys who’ve never hired a HC to get it right. We’re screwed. I do not understand how they r keeping idiot MacFucko and letting him pick the coach. Jamal Adams came out saying the Jets have no talent and the moron who filled the team with no talented assholes is getting even more power to pick more worthless FAs and draftees. What coach in his right mind would want to work for the fuckin’ idiot GM when he may be fired next year? Only a desperate loser coach. Jets suck forever.

1 SB with Rodgers is a travesty. I want nothing to do with McCarthy - his offense relied on two gunslingers ( Farve, AR) for all its 'creativity'. And Caldwell?? He strikes me as an older Bowles. Pass. I can definitely understand and appreciate this point, but let's not forget that Favre was a diva of epic proportions, as is Rodgers. Also, IMO we have come to see why he sat waiting to be picked as long as he did despite his immense talent; he's not a likable person. The more I think about it along those lines, the more I want to see McCarthy here, because I believe he's a good coach who can get the most out of even the most difficult student, which Darnold is not.

It’s been a while since the stars have been aligned like this: young legit franchise qb, stud on defense, loads of cash...common can we get it right? Even a broken clock is right twice a day jeebus.

I dont think the field is that strong. McCarthy is the best available in my opinion. Based on what Chris Johnson said about the next coach reporting to him it seems like he would let them pick their players. So I dont think Mac is much of an issue at this point. Just another set of eyes. Darnold and Adams saved Mac's job. Jets have worst draft rating since Mac has been hired with regard to players drafter still being in the league. www.theringer.com/nfl/2018/12/30/18162246/todd-bowles-fired-sam-darnold-new-york-jets-next-coach

Picking a HC is like the draft: it’s a crapshoot. There’s no way to know how it’s gonna work out.Who would have guessed McVay was gonna kill it? Pederson last year ? Even Frank Reich in Indy ?! He wasn’t even their first choice, ended up with a staff that wasn’t his, no talent on D, and absolutely killed it.
OTH Gase was the hot ticket before Miami nabbed him, and it was meh.
I guess you’re limiting your risks if you pick a guy who’s been a successful HC.

Since Maccagnan was hired in January 2015, the Jets rank 31st out of 32 teams in drafted players still in the league, according to a study by Over the Cap, a salary cap research website. Only one of the three players Maccagnan has drafted in the second round is still in the NFL, an astonishing figure considering the league average for second-rounders sticking in the league since 2015 is 92 percent. »

I read alot about how close the Jets were to winning 6+ more games this year, but blowing late leads. It's used to defend Mac and criticize Bowles.
Curious...any chance that we were in those games BECAUSE of Bowles even with the roster given to him?
Maybe time will tell...but chances are we will just continue to suck. As a Jets fan it's best to have low expectations. That way when they do anything decent it's exciting and a nice surprise.
For instance, our QB lead the league in interceptions and we're exctatic about him.
Happy New Year.

the best that can be said for keeping Maccagnan the fucking idiot is that the Jets probably would have screwed up the search for his replacement anyway.
