I am a Rangers fan. They are in a rebuilding process and still a lot more exciting to watch than the Jets were. Yes because they saw the obvious need for a rebuild with a new coac h and the new coach can actually coach and discipline players. This was a departure from the usual loading up on expensive older free agents / trade returns who didn’t last They also have one of the top goalies while imo overrated still plays well enough to keep them in every game The team is 3/4 rebuilt from 2 years ago and very young but like the Jets are lacking O. I saw them play and win in a workmanlike effort in SJ 2 months ago - they are marginally in the playoff hunt but will likely shed a few more vets next month. They have surpassed expectations already and the future seems bright with a few very good prospects who will be on the team in a year or so

Quinn has done a damn good job with this team. I think they have a big selloff at some point. I think at least three big name players will go. Some names along the line of Hayes, Zucc, Skjei, Namestnikov, Shattenkirk. It will be interesting to see who goes.

The Islanders are a great example of how the right coaching can help a team overachieve for their talent level. Islanders lose Tavares, add Lamoriello and Trotz, and they're playing better than they have in years.

Barry Trotz is one hell of a coach.

Trotz and his goaltending gurus, and an actual system, are making Lehner look like an All Star goalie.

Trotz is arguably the second best coach in Islanders history... which isn't saying much. But bargain bin coaches give bargain bin results.
Arbour.... Trotz...............................................Laviolette probably third.
