They don’t have DUI checkpoints in NC? Not that I have seen in 22 years of living here. Best move I ever made. As I sip my conniption, Navy strength, gin and tonic 😁 I have family that moved from NY to the outer banks. I’m out of the northeast when I can, and heading to Hawaii

I'm thinkin hard about NC and SC when I leave this shithole state. ( Sopne is graduating U South Carolina in may, probably staying down south) NC is the Bomb. Trust me.

Charlotte and Raleigh are up and coming places with a ton to do for all ages. I see SC mostly as a retirement state, most of the state anyway. Not on the Fl scale but not far behind it. We have our choice of stuff every weekend of all sorts of stuff to do. From food truck rodeos to concerts or movies on the lawn, Taxes are low, Housing is getting pricey but it really depends on where you wish to settle. From the Ral area you are 2 hours from the beach and 2 hours from the mountains. We have a robust wine country with some really good vineyards and breweries up in Elkin/Dobson/Yadkinville. Wifne and I go 2-3 times a year for a long weekend. If you ever go check out Raffaldini's. Great place and fantastic wine. We go to some of their seasonal dinners. Pricey but worth it. Jay Raffaldini knows his shit about food and wine. My kids love it here.

Thank for the info, we'll def be down that way again.
