Three possibilities
1. It's real, and it's spectacular - Jets truly love Oliver and plan to take him at 3. I don't know enough about him to truly call this spectacular, I just needed the Seinfeld reference
2. Smokescreen to drum up trade interest. A. Jets know Raiders/Bucs/Giants/Jags/Lions want Oliver and are trying to prompt a trade up and take BPA after trade. I think we could all live with the possibility of a 1-slot drop with the Raiders if it means getting one of their later 1's, or a 2, or a future 1 (my preference would be any package that includes a future 1. maybe a 3 this year and a 1 next year, and we can throw in Lee for good measure.) B. Jets want to make it appear that they indeed have 4, not 3, "top" players on their board to create the optic of "we traded down and still got our favorite player" if Oliver is still available at whichever pick they land.
3. Agent is leaking this info to get a team to trade up for him. Supposedly Falcons and Bills love Oliver. Oh man, if the Bills tried to trade with the Jets it could be the fleecing of the century
all i know is, if we really love Oliver and take him it will make MM the biggest dipshit ever if he isn't as good as Bosa/Williams/Allen. Also probably goodbye Leonard Williams, whom the most we can probably get for is a 3rd round compensation pick in 2 years.
i hate my life, Thursday please come now

4. Jets have on good authority that Q Williams will be the #1 or #2 pick. I think as of right now a 100 dollar bet on Williams pays out 1800 dollars in Vegas. I'm thinking of crossing the bridge just to make that bet.
I think the Jets really wanna deal with Raiders or Giants. They can say to both teams: hey, move up 1-3 spots. The price won't be steep unless Murray is available.

Williams is a great player but he is the same as the Williams we already have.
We need someone who can beat a block on the edge.

If we stay at #3, I’d probably take Oliver over everyone not named Nick Bosa.
To call Oliver a fucking freak would be an understatement. If any DT prospect is worthy of being compared to Aaron Donald, it’s him.

Bosa has been injured 2 of the past 4 years. None of which have been in the NFL.
Could be a great player but no friggin’ way I want us to pick him.

This guy Boss sounds like a lock to be a Jet. Checks all the jet injury history boxes. Perfect to get injured while lighting up training camp then spending the rest of his entire "career" on the DL
We already know what Mac-Fucko will do

I just don't want a repeat of Vernon Gholston please. What a loser situation THAT was. Then they even hung onto him forever. Stupid ass franchise run by morons who take 4 years to come up with the "drastic outfits" they did. These motherfuckers don't know how to make the most basic obvious of decisions Lucky for us in about 3 years or so from now they might start thinking about replacing brick

My top 7:
Nick Bosa: Great talent but no thanks the injuries worry me. The injury talk in the thread says it all and I can see it happening to the Jets; Josh Allen: I'm not 100% on board but the Jets may need to put this lack of an edge rusher BS to bed; Quinnen Williams: If the Jets are drafting defense at #3, this is the guy I want. Pair him with Leonard Williams and watch them reek havoc; Ed Oliver: Could be a great player but you can't afford a miss with #3 maybe the Jets know more than we give them credit....or not; D.K Metcalf: They use to say don't draft a WR in the 1st round (unless it's Keyshawn Johnson). This guy could be the exception to the rule if the Jets go O; T.J Hockenson: The guy's going to be a star but do the Jets want/need a TE at #3? Maybe, maybe not; and Montez Sweat: LB and Edge Rusher problem solved but not sure you can pass on Williams, Oliver, Allen, Metcalf or Hockenson. Time will tell.
