Wish I was still there -- this is what I expected to see after the Argentina win when I was in Paris having drinks at one of the cafes that is just out of that picture on the right -- but I guess that was just a Round of 16 game so the City was more subdued.

Raoul prolly out of his mind hammered right about now.
M'Bappé if he keeps his head on straight (all signs are pointing that way) will be the next Pélé. 19 years old ..crazy.
I am in Paris on vacation. Coming back from Versailles on Friday afternoon just as the game ended. Not quite as crazy as I expected, but still a fun place to be on Friday night, in Paris as the city celebrated. Congrats.
Deferred income as part of a contract he signed back in 1999,
A 36 year contract??
As i understand it, Bonilla signed a one year deal with the Mets in 1999 but did not begin to receive payment until 2011, when he began receiving $1.1MM per year for 25 years. I may have the details wrong, but its something like that. Different from the Isles DP deal which was a 15 year contract. This was one year with deferred payment.
Longer this goes on the more it looks like he is using us for leverage and will go somewhere else: I think he goes at this point.
8pm EST. No news. Im 94% sure he’s a goner.
Midnight come and gone. Unless something has been signed and not announced, he is a goner. Would really suck the way this went down, supposedly asking the team not to trade him at the deadline, then adding a legitimate coach and GM with Cup winning pedigrees. What more could he have wanted. Why the charade? And leaving the team in limbo until free agency already started. I always thought he was a class act, but if he is leaving, this is not the way to do it.
Im guessing its some sort of pride thing? This guy got a certain % of the cap last year, so now I want that or more this year? As long as they dont go max contract (which would be, what 20% of the cap?)
I dunno, I hear 15%.
20% seems like a shitload of budget to lock up on 1 guy. 15% also seems like a lot.... 15% of 82m is $12.3m. That’s a lot of dough.
McDavid is the highest paid player in the league with $12.5MM avg salary. I am guessing Tavares beats that -- something around $13 mil.
