I've watched a lot of Virginia Tech this year and their defense is pretty good. I doubt Clemson will be able to run the ball at all tonight and it's going to be on Kelly Bryant's shoulders. Not liking that at all. He's just not ready for that responsibility, not a good spot for CU tonight. Was proud of my Hokies hanging tough with you guys last year. Hopefully it's another close one, but in the end I still see Clemson walking away with the win. You can always count on Bud Foster fielding a quality defense, but Josh Jackson has been a HUGE surprise behind center. Fuente has done a great job getting the program back on track after the last 2-3 years of Beamer's reign. Agreed. VaTech almost beat CU last year in ACC Championship game, Tech is better this year and CU isn't as good as last year. I don't have any confidence in Bryant throwing the ball around the field and having to win this game with his arm.

Big result. Huge comeback for Falk after Boise St. game. Eeeexactly. Darnold's stock takes a little knick, but Falk's gets decent sized boost... After that odd meltdown, he needed this kind of game. Sorry, don't see it that way at all. I guess I look at it differently, but I didn't see anything that changes the evals for either kid. Darnold still has a skill set that you want and need in an NFL QB. I have way more questions about Falk.

I stayed up to watch the UCLA/Stanford game. Jim Mora needs to go, and David Shaw finally realized that K.J. Costello should be his starting QB. Costello is just so much better than Chryst. Rosen threw the ball 60 times...Lol. He is getting beat up by a bad O line, but he keeps his footwork and fundamentals are still good. He gets the ball out fast when he needs to and avoids the first wave of pass rush pretty well. I doubt he makes it through this season without injury though, with that O line and having to throw 60 times in a game, it just doesn't look good for him.

That targeting call in the UCLA game was just terrible. What makes this so bad is, not only are they making horrendous calls even after replay review, but the penalty is just ridiculous. The whole getting kicked out of the game thing is moronic. Then if you get called for targeting in the second half, you have to sit out the first half of the next game. So if I get called for targeting with 1 minute left in the first half, I have to sit for 31 minutes. But if I get called for targeting on the first drive of the second half I sit for 59 minutes. Who the fuck came up with this process?

I'm not so worried about the Miami game. They have a better roster and a much better coach. They probably win one of the Jax or Cleveland games.
Don't be surprised if a tie breaker to determine draft order keeps the Jets from getting their franchise QB.

Hey Sect, not to get too off topic but are there any Clemson bars in the Manhattan you would recommend? Prob gonna get stuck here tomorrow and want somewhere to maybe watch the game. Thanks. Sorry, just saw this. The Liberty on 35th Street is where a lot of Clemson fans go in NYC. The NYC Clemson Club meets there on gamedays.

Adjusted after 3 weeks:Yes 1-Rosen 2-Darnold Likely not in the running for top 5 or 10 pick but still #interested 1-Falk 2-Lamar Not buying it 1-Allen 2-Rudolph Worth keeping an eye on 1-Fitzgerald (i didn't buy the hype, but i am now) 2-Ferguson I'll say it again. We take Darnold/Rosen at 1/2 and take Falk or Rudolph at the top of round 2. Then draft Oline and WR/RB the rest of the weekend. _ _ Might be able to get Rudolph later than you think....

Devin Smith was a bust before he even set foot on the field. Terrible pick and a terrible player.

I don't want to see a competitive losing team, or hear about how the players "didn't quit on the HC". I want an incredibly bad, non-competitive team that leaves no doubt about cleaning house next year. 0-16, scorched earth debacle is what is needed. If that happens you will have the cleanest of slates to start over with a new regime. I just don't think that starting over is the answer, especially if we go for another first-time GM/HC combo. I wouldn't cry if they canned Bowles but another front office overhaul is just asking for more pain. Mac just finished installing his scouting/personnel staff last-season, do we really want to start that whole process again? Or are we going to stick the new guy with Mac's holdovers? Neither of those options seem appealing to me. Bowles is almost certainly gone at this rate, so I think a coaching staff overhaul is enough turmoil for one off-season. Turning over both the CS and FO again is just asking for more disfunction. If they're going to make a move, they should at the least bring in a head of operations who actually knows football to serve above Mac. Let him assess the situation and decide on a direction after next year. The last thing we need is Woody's brother performing a head coach and GM search. If you do that then you can not saddle him with the current GM for one year to evaluate him. There is too much at stake next year for that to happen. This organization has failed at every turn to do this management thing correctly. It's either new GM same HC, new HC same GM or hire the HC then get a GM. It's fucking asinine how this organization is structured. You want a head of operations? Fine, he can bring in HIS GM, HC and staff on day one. Enough of this holdover shit with these regimes, it's not a healthy way to run any organization.

Surprised no one has mentioned the 2014 draft. 12 picks in an incredibly deep and talented draft and we have Dakota Dozier as the lone survivor of all of those picks. That might be the worst single draft any team in the NFL has had in the last decade, no exaggeration either. Just flat out incompetent.

I tend to agree that Darnold isn't head and shoulders above Rosen right now. People react too much on a week to week basis with this stuff. I still take Darnold over Rosen but it's not this huge gap between them. You give Rosen the running game, O line and receivers that USC has, and people wouldn't be making such claims. But your boy Lamar last night, he's still showing why I can't take him seriously as a legit NFL prospect. My boy Lamar? I wasn't responding to you.
