They just need a good smack in the face.

I was a physics major back in the early 90s and I remember one of my professors blaming temperature increases on urban sprawl, the fall of the USSR and poor "normalization" of the data.

Urban sprawl would mean that thermometers that used to be in a field or less populated area could now be surrounded by blacktop or buildings which would obviously push temps up. 

The fall of the USSR means that USSR weather stations were either totally abandoned and/or not maintained and were typically in colder climates which would remove cold data from the record. 

When all "normalizing" of data, and it is ALL, moves the temps higher then that is not good data.

It is all a scam.

I could solve this problem in about 10 seconds.  A couple of police night sticks to their leftist heads, then drug off to the lockup where they eat baloney sandwiches and drink water, then get sentenced to multiple years in prison and have to pay restitution to repair the damage they caused.  Finally, probation for the rest of their lousy lives and another misstep sends them back for double their original sentence.  Bad behavior/criminal acts = real consequences.
